Mooneyes Xmas Party 07 Show & Drag
At Irwindale Speedway! Hot Rods, Customs, Live Music, Art, Pin Striping and Pin up Girl contests!!!
This was my first time going to this gathering of hot rods, rat rods, drag cars, motorcycles & customs! Words & Photos by James Drew
What a blast I myself do not do that many of these types of events as I cover mostly drag racing and the car gatherings I do are normal style events such as the Good Guys DelMar car show and the CHIPS for Kids show at John Force’s!
The difference is night and day between those events and this one M@@NEYES Xmas Party is just that a party, I will say that over 95 percent of the hot rods etc that come to this gathering drive their vehicles be it the custom’s hot rods drag cars, low riders and the rat rods, there were a few drag cars that came in or on trailers but very few of the customs and rods came that way which was very cool! I was told by a few that this event has grown a lot over the first few events that were held at the Moon equipment headquarters in Norwalk Ca. the cars are mostly driven by a guys and gals who were not even born in the 1950’s as most of crowd was dressed in that style and girls or young woman dressed that way! They had their own manufacture mid way but most of booths were clothing, car art, pin striping and the pin up bombshell girls all fitting into the mid 50’s to early 60’s. Unlike the other two events the adult beverages flowed everywhere around the event and the 3 bands that I heard play with names like the Hot Rod Trio, the DynoTones they jammed playing that same era of music be it surf to hot rod related songs and getting the crowd enthused and energized, while this was going on drag cars and anyone whose car passed thru the tech line was permitted to make runs down the Irwindale 1/8 mile drag strip the quickest cars there had to be Stormy B. BF/Dragster & Sparky’s Grape Ape both with a small percentage of nitro in the tanks, along with a cacklefest to put some nitro into the air for the fans who packed the stands and walked around drag pits the nitro was pumped into the air! John Ewald put Clay Smith and his Granddaughter into his two nitro dragsters which was a blast for the Clay Smith family the joke for Clay was he got to get into the ex Chet Herbert Cams top fuel dragster the cam grinder from Buena Park Ca. will never be able to stop his family from the ribbing he got from his wife to all his employee’s who came out to support their boss. I myself had a great time at this event there was no real drag race good! Because I spent most of my time with two great young ladies who were being Santa’s bad girl helpers Riley and Kim tried to keep me out of two much trouble! I know this I got to meet more people at this event and I hope to see a lot of them before next year’s 2008 M@@Neyes Xmas Party. Yes fun was had by everyone they had some great contests going on during the event one being a pin striping contest, a Bombshell Pin Up Girl contest 1st place was a young lady by the name of Jessica, but my vote went to all the ladies who came out for the contest plus all the other young ladies who dressed up 50’s style as there were so many having a blast checking out the cars and guys. Mooneyes also had a live auction to raise money for the local Shriners Children Hospital! The items that went up during the live auction ranged from having Pin striping done your vehicle, custom painted art work on everything from toilet seats, skate boards any anything else that was great artwork items!
Again if you live in area and are into cars and girls you need to make your way to this gathering was great time!

I know this I got to meet more people at this event and I hope to see a lot of them before next year’s 2008 M@@Neyes Xmas Party. Yes fun was had by everyone they had some great contests going on during the event one being a pin striping contest, a Bombshell Pin Up Girl contest 1st place was a young lady by the name of Jessica, but my vote went to all the ladies who came out for the contest plus all the other young ladies who dressed up 50’s style as there were so many having a blast checking out the cars and guys. Mooneyes also had a live auction to raise money for the local Shriners Children Hospital! The items that went up during the live auction ranged from having Pin striping done your vehicle, custom painted art work on everything from toilet seats, skate boards any anything else that was great artwork items!

Mooneyes Xmas Party 07 Show & Drag
At Irwindale Speedway! Hot Rods, Customs, Live Music, Art, Pin Striping and Pin up Girl contests!!!
This was my first time going to this gathering of hot rods, rat rods, drag cars, motorcycles & customs! Words & Photos by James Drew
What a blast I myself do not do that many of these types of events as I cover mostly drag racing and the car gatherings I do are normal style events such as the Good Guys DelMar car show and the CHIPS for Kids show at John Force’s!
The difference is night and day between those events and this one M@@NEYES Xmas Party is just that a party, I will say that over 95 percent of the hot rods etc that come to this gathering drive their vehicles be it the custom’s hot rods drag cars, low riders and the rat rods, there were a few drag cars that came in or on trailers but very few of the customs and rods came that way which was very cool! I was told by a few that this event has grown a lot over the first few events that were held at the Moon equipment headquarters in Norwalk Ca. the cars are mostly driven by a guys and gals who were not even born in the 1950’s as most of crowd was dressed in that style and girls or young woman dressed that way! They had their own manufacture mid way but most of booths were clothing, car art, pin striping and the pin up bombshell girls all fitting into the mid 50’s to early 60’s. Unlike the other two events the adult beverages flowed everywhere around the event and the 3 bands that I heard play with names like the Hot Rod Trio, the DynoTones they jammed playing that same era of music be it surf to hot rod related songs and getting the crowd enthused and energized, while this was going on drag cars and anyone whose car passed thru the tech line was permitted to make runs down the Irwindale 1/8 mile drag strip the quickest cars there had to be Stormy B. Mooneyes Xmas Party 07 Show & Drag
At Irwindale Speedway! Hot Rods, Customs, Live Music, Art, Pin Striping and Pin up Girl contests!!!
This was my first time going to this gathering of hot rods, rat rods, drag cars, motorcycles & customs! Words & Photos by James Drew
What a blast I myself do not do that many of these types of events as I cover mostly drag racing and the car gatherings I do are normal style events such as the Good Guys DelMar car show and the CHIPS for Kids show at John Force’s!
The difference is night and day between those events and this one M@@NEYES Xmas Party is just that a party, I will say that over 95 percent of the hot rods etc that come to this gathering drive their vehicles be it the custom’s hot rods drag cars, low riders and the rat rods, there were a few drag cars that came in or on trailers but very few of the customs and rods came that way which was very cool! I was told by a few that this event has grown a lot over the first few events that were held at the Moon equipment headquarters in Norwalk Ca. the cars are mostly driven by a guys and gals who were not even born in the 1950’s as most of crowd was dressed in that style and girls or young woman dressed that way! They had their own manufacture mid way but most of booths were clothing, car art, pin striping and the pin up bombshell girls all fitting into the mid 50’s to early 60’s. Unlike the other two events the adult beverages flowed everywhere around the event and the 3 bands that I heard play with names like the Hot Rod Trio, the DynoTones they jammed playing that same era of music be it surf to hot rod related songs and getting the crowd enthused and energized, while this was going on drag cars and anyone whose car passed thru the tech line was permitted to make runs down the Irwindale 1/8 mile drag strip the quickest cars there had to be Stormy B. BF/Dragster & Sparky’s Grape Ape both with a small percentage of nitro in the tanks, along with a cacklefest to put some nitro into the air for the fans who packed the stands and walked around drag pits the nitro was pumped into the air! John Ewald put Clay Smith and his Granddaughter into his two nitro dragsters which was a blast for the Clay Smith family the joke for Clay was he got to get into the ex Chet Herbert Cams top fuel dragster the cam grinder from Buena Park Ca. will never be able to stop his family from the ribbing he got from his wife to all his employee’s who came out to support their boss. I myself had a great time at this event there was no real drag race good! Because I spent most of my time with two great young ladies who were being Santa’s bad girl helpers Riley and Kim tried to keep me out of two much trouble! I know this I got to meet more people at this event and I hope to see a lot of them before next year’s 2008 M@@Neyes Xmas Party. Yes fun was had by everyone they had some great contests going on during the event one being a pin striping contest, a Bombshell Pin Up Girl contest 1st place was a young lady by the name of Jessica, but my vote went to all the ladies who came out for the contest plus all the other young ladies who dressed up 50’s style as there were so many having a blast checking out the cars and guys. Mooneyes also had a live auction to raise money for the local Shriners Children Hospital! The items that went up during the live auction ranged from having Pin striping done your vehicle, custom painted art work on everything from toilet seats, skate boards any anything else that was great artwork items!

John Ewald put Clay Smith and his Granddaughter into his two nitro dragsters which was a blast for the Clay Smith family the joke for Clay was he got to get into the ex Chet Herbert Cams top fuel dragster the cam grinder from Buena Park Ca. will never be able to stop his family from the ribbing he got from his wife to all his employee’s who came out to support their boss. I myself had a great time at this event there was no real drag race good! Because I spent most of my time with two great young ladies who were being Santa’s bad girl helpers Riley and Kim tried to keep me out of two much trouble! I know this I got to meet more people at this event and I hope to see a lot of them before next year’s 2008 M@@Neyes Xmas Party. Mooneyes Xmas Party 07 Show & Drag
At Irwindale Speedway! Hot Rods, Customs, Live Music, Art, Pin Striping and Pin up Girl contests!!!
This was my first time going to this gathering of hot rods, rat rods, drag cars, motorcycles & customs! Words & Photos by James Drew
What a blast I myself do not do that many of these types of events as I cover mostly drag racing and the car gatherings I do are normal style events such as the Good Guys DelMar car show and the CHIPS for Kids show at John Force’s!
The difference is night and day between those events and this one M@@NEYES Xmas Party is just that a party, I will say that over 95 percent of the hot rods etc that come to this gathering drive their vehicles be it the custom’s hot rods drag cars, low riders and the rat rods, there were a few drag cars that came in or on trailers but very few of the customs and rods came that way which was very cool! I was told by a few that this event has grown a lot over the first few events that were held at the Moon equipment headquarters in Norwalk Ca. the cars are mostly driven by a guys and gals who were not even born in the 1950’s as most of crowd was dressed in that style and girls or young woman dressed that way! They had their own manufacture mid way but most of booths were clothing, car art, pin striping and the pin up bombshell girls all fitting into the mid 50’s to early 60’s. Unlike the other two events the adult beverages flowed everywhere around the event and the 3 bands that I heard play with names like the Hot Rod Trio, the DynoTones they jammed playing that same era of music be it surf to hot rod related songs and getting the crowd enthused and energized, while this was going on drag cars and anyone whose car passed thru the tech line was permitted to make runs down the Irwindale 1/8 mile drag strip the quickest cars there had to be Stormy B. BF/Dragster & Sparky’s Grape Ape both with a small percentage of nitro in the tanks, along with a cacklefest to put some nitro into the air for the fans who packed the stands and walked around drag pits the nitro was pumped into the air! John Ewald put Clay Smith and his Granddaughter into his two nitro dragsters which was a blast for the Clay Smith family the joke for Clay was he got to get into the ex Chet Herbert Cams top fuel dragster the cam grinder from Buena Park Ca. will never be able to stop his family from the ribbing he got from his wife to all his employee’s who came out to support their boss. I myself had a great time at this event there was no real drag race good! Because I spent most of my time with two great young ladies who were being Santa’s bad girl helpers Riley and Kim tried to keep me out of two much trouble! I know this I got to meet more people at this event and I hope to see a lot of them before next year’s 2008 M@@Neyes Xmas Party. Yes fun was had by everyone they had some great contests going on during the event one being a pin striping contest, a Bombshell Pin Up Girl contest 1st place was a young lady by the name of Jessica, but my vote went to all the ladies who came out for the contest plus all the other young ladies who dressed up 50’s style as there were so many having a blast checking out the cars and guys. Mooneyes also had a live auction to raise money for the local Shriners Children Hospital! The items that went up during the live auction ranged from having Pin striping done your vehicle, custom painted art work on everything from toilet seats, skate boards any anything else that was great artwork items!

John Ewald put Clay Smith and his Granddaughter into his two nitro dragsters which was a blast for the Clay Smith family the joke for Clay was he got to get into the ex Chet Herbert Cams top fuel dragster the cam grinder from Buena Park Ca. will never be able to stop his family from the ribbing he got from his wife to all his employee’s who came out to support their boss. I myself had a great time at this event there was no real drag race good! Because I spent most of my time with two great young ladies who were being Santa’s bad girl helpers Riley and Kim tried to keep me out of two much trouble! I know this I got to meet more people at this event and I hope to see a lot of them before next year’s 2008 M@@Neyes Xmas Party. Yes fun was had by everyone they had some great contests going on during the event one being a pin striping contest, a Bombshell Pin Up Girl contest 1st place was a young lady by the name of Jessica, but my vote went to all the ladies who came out for the contest plus all the other young ladies who dressed up 50’s style as there were so many having a blast checking out the cars and guys. Mooneyes also had a live auction to raise money for the local Shriners Children Hospital! The items that went up during the live auction ranged from having Pin striping done your vehicle, custom painted art work on everything from toilet seats, skate boards any anything else that was great artwork items!
Again if you live in area and are into cars and girls you need to make your way to this gathering was great time!

This was my first time going to this gathering of hot rods, rat rods, drag cars, motorcycles & customs! Words & Photos by James Drew
What a blast I myself do not do that many of these types of events as I cover mostly drag racing and the car gatherings I do are normal style events such as the Good Guys DelMar car show and the CHIPS for Kids show at John Force’s!
The difference is night and day between those events and this one M@@NEYES Xmas Party is just that a party, I will say that over 95 percent of the hot rods etc that come to this gathering drive their vehicles be it the custom’s hot rods drag cars, low riders and the rat rods, there were a few drag cars that came in or on trailers but very few of the customs and rods came that way which was very cool! I was told by a few that this event has grown a lot over the first few events that were held at the Moon equipment headquarters in Norwalk Ca. the cars are mostly driven by a guys and gals who were not even born in the 1950’s as most of crowd was dressed in that style and girls or young woman dressed that way! They had their own manufacture mid way but most of booths were clothing, car art, pin striping and the pin up bombshell girls all fitting into the mid 50’s to early 60’s. Unlike the other two events the adult beverages flowed everywhere around the event and the 3 bands that I heard play with names like the Hot Rod Trio, the DynoTones they jammed playing that same era of music be it surf to hot rod related songs and getting the crowd enthused and energized, while this was going on drag cars and anyone whose car passed thru the tech line was permitted to make runs down the Irwindale 1/8 mile drag strip the quickest cars there had to be Stormy B. BF/Dragster & Sparky’s Grape Ape both with a small percentage of nitro in the tanks, along with a cacklefest to put some nitro into the air for the fans who packed the stands and walked around drag pits the nitro was pumped into the air! At Irwindale Speedway! Hot Rods, Customs, Live Music, Art, Pin Striping and Pin up Girl contests!!!
