    I forgot to mention that the name of the Galaxie funny car was "Peanuts".  It ran a blown Hemi.

    This was Sheldon's second funny car.  The first was really one of the very early funny cars from 1965, as I recall.  It was a fiberglass 1965 Ford Galaxie, used by Ford for a T.V. commercial on top of Pike's Peak.  Somehow, Shel got hold of it and became one of the first with a funny car.  He ran it mostly at Lyon's Drag Strip in Long Beach, Ca.  I am Sheldon's nephew and was 12 when he built the car.  My dad and I went almost every week to watch Shel run.  My dad was his parachute packer.

    This may have been one of the first real funny cars. Sheldon Konblatt's "Snoopy", although he had a Ford bodied drag car prior to this
