BC

So, I decided to BC this past Saturday, Nov 24th.
I was tired of dealing with the two textures, and my dh finally agreed to it so while we were in Miami for Thanksgiving I did it.

It has been less than a day right now and I'm still adjusting to it. I went to a natural hair salon, and I told the lady that I just wanted it all cut even (after cutting off the relaxer). She said I needed to shape it, that it would look odd like that so I let her shape it. She said she would take a little off the sides and the back. I think she took way too much off of the sides, especially the right side above my ear - it looks like I'm balding there and I'm not, it was just as thick as the middle before she cut it.

I'm not sure that I like it, the length I'm fine with - I like it and would keep it this short if it were not so frizzy on top. If I part it the root is nice and defined, but right on top is a layer of fuzz/frizz. I have tons of relaxed ends sticking up all over so maybe that is causing the fuzzy frizz???

I'm thinking about just going to a barber and shaving it down to the length of the side she messed up.

Update 11/26/07 - I'm loving my hair! I love how easy it is. I love the fact that I can get my hair wet without the hassle! I love how my hair feels - I need to keep my hands out of it though : )
I might have my dh go through and trim off some of the stray relaxed ends tonight.
Thanks to everyone for the support, encouragement and advice! Especially to all the ladies at Happycurls.com for answering all my questions ; )

Update 28/11/07 - Cowashing daily, and a good moisturizing conditioner really helps. I'm already seeing a difference - my hair is a little less frizzy. I think I want to try a good moisturizing conditioner that does not have protein - hmmm I need go find one.

12/2/07 - I found one, Whole Foods Market had one that got good reviews on sale - Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose. I can't wait to try it!

The Problem

This is the side that is way too short. Doesn't it look like I'm balding above my ear? That part was just as thick as the top before she "shaped" it. I'm thinking about shaving it all that length.

I think it's cute here, it doesn't look like your balding just curlies! It would be cute shorter as well

I first bc'd at a salon but I had to come home and have someone else reshape it (she ended up taking the clippers to it and shaving it really close but I was much more comfortable with it). She shaped me up really nice too. I suggest that you get it cut the way that you feel comfortable now - that way you will like it when it grows in. I can't wait to see your hair when it grows in - the texture is awesome!

Thanks for the advice! I might give it a bit and see if I still want to cut it lower. I might keep the TWA for a bit though, I'm loving it!!!

I think it will fill in. The woman who cut my hair cut it too close for my comfort. In most of the area it has grown out. My hair really grew fast during my first year.

    Good luck!!!

Thank you for the reassurance : )
