Always one of my favorite displays at the fair. So much work goes into them, not including all of the growing and the preserving is even MORE work!

These are carnivorous plants. They trap flies and other insects into their alluring flower like leaf and then they can't get out because of the sticky enzymes in the long hooded tube. These plants are a lot of fun and VERY hardy. You just need to keep them wet.

This has always been a childhood memory. They still do a great job. Sometimes memories from childhood exceed current reality , but this time it hasn't.

They sure made it look easy.

To keep them clean for the show ring. I used to have a show horse and they would inevitably find some manure or something dirty to lay on or roll in minutes before you had to enter the show arena.

They were born that day and a huge hit with the crowd.
