Penguin Plunge, Feb. 18, 2007

A fund raiser for Special Olympics Connecticut Northwest Region. The "Prep" pictures were made on the 17th. The volunteers had to cut through at least 6 to 8 inches of ice on Lake Quasipauag to clear an area for the plungers. They will be going into the water at noon, February 18th.

UPDATE: Just to add to the atmosphere, there was a snow shower during most of the event. If I heard the numbers correctly, 261 men, women, and children participated. They raised about $77,500 for Special Olympics Connecticut Northwest Region.
