Back To Black

Ok, I had hi-lited, bleached and dyed my locs. After I sported the two tone look for a while, the black began to fade from my locs in the back. So I took out the black dye with a product called Color Zap, then dyed it fire red all over. It was gorgeous bcuz I had lots of different tones to begin with, but it didn't last. Reds never do! I didn't want to have to keep re-touching the color - especially since, in my opinion, the dye had begun changing my hair texture. So I decided to go back to black. After a lot of research on np.com, I decided to use Bigen hair color. I love it! My only problem is that I didn't buy enough. I went thru 6 boxes of the stuff and it wasn't enough. I plan to touch up the spots I missed, but for now I have a few red hi-lites ;)

    I love this. Your locs are so lucious. I love that you are fearless about color too.

    Well, I used to be fearless. Until I experienced the adverse effects of dying on my locs. So for now I am keeping the color bug in check.

    Locs swept to the one side always looks so cute and sexy. Great pic. By the way, how old are your locs in this album?

    +++++++++++++++++++++
    I wish I could figure a way to style them so that they stay this way. My locs are a little over 3 yrs old in this album.

    I'm interested in this whole latching thing. I've heard some info here and there about how to do it but I'm scared that I'll thin out my roots and have holes in my locs. Any advice?

    +++++++++++++++++++++
    You can always try out latching on just a few locs until u get the hang of it and feel comfortable with it. I haven't experienced any problems with latching. I purchased Cherie King's e-book and read as much as I could on np.com before attempting though. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

    This is a great pic of you. my parents have been using Bigen for YEARS to hide their grey. It works wonderfully and though I've never tried it I may in the future. Though that Water Works stuff does sound interesting.....

    For dark colors, I wouldn't use anything else! My daughter even commented on the texture of my hair immediately after we used it. It actually conditions my hair, and I happen to really like the floral scent!
