AC Ace Bristol Roadster
I've been playing around with the idea of converting the old AMT 289 Cobra body into an AC Ace and decided to dive in and see what I could do with it. With some fairly subtle changes I think it looks pretty nice, especially the front end which was the most difficult part of it. I am replicating the dark green car with body color spokes and a rich caramel colored interior. Things are coming along nicely and two more things are needed to finish it: a convincing trio of Solex one-barrel carbs, complete with at least some semblance of throttle linkage and fuel lines, and a proper grille. I tried my hand at making one with plastic strips and metal pins and it just didn't cut it. I may have to try making one out of metal. Keep an eye on this one as once I get past these last two hurdles, this baby will be finished in short order!
