Homemade Products and Results Pics

These photos are from my foray into making all-natural products for myself and others. So far, the results have been spectacular!! Go - see for yourself, drop me a note - a comment, a private guestbook message, or if you have any questions...whatever.

NEW!!!!! My Botticelli Botanicals Etsy shop is open for business!!! You can buy all of the faboo things I make that I'm blabbing about here, and others are talking about at! Yay!!

Current product line includes:

Flax Gelee - A thick, yet easy to distribute flax based gel that provides moisture, hold, and softness for nearly all curl types. You choose scent, oils, and any additional additives from the list below. Available in 8 oz or 16 oz sizes.

Brulee - Somewhere between a gel and a cream, this nourishing concoction provides hold and lots of moisture with humectant magic, leaving your hair soft and bouncy. Only available in 4 oz jars - you choose your scent.

Butter - This sweet orange EO enriched humectant hair butter is just as good for your skin as it is for your hair. Excellent for scrunching out the crunch, and as an after shower facial moisturizer. Only available in 2 oz tins, sweet orange scent only.

Smoothie - a nourishing and detangling conditioner that doubles as both a rinse out and a leave in. My goal when creating this was to replace LVPNG for those curlies who could no longer find it in their area, and then make it as close to all-natural as I possibly could. Silicone and sulfate free, protein and glycerine free, and completely CG as it won't build up on your hair. You choose the scent.

Seamollient! This is an algae extract with phenomenal moisture binding and hydrating capabilities. Imagine what something nicknamed "nature's face lift" can do for your hair! Add to your Smoothie for a moisture boost, and to Gelee for extra moisture and hold.

Now you can add Honeyquat or pure, unscented silk amino acid protein to your Gelee and Smoothie! Honeyquat is water soluble and won't build up, provides extra shine for your hair, and doesn't look, smell, or act like food-grade honey in the least. Even if your hair doesn't like regular honey, you may want to give this a try!

Silk has long been prized for it's luxurious feel, and what it's amino acids do for skin and hair, penetrating and leaving it feeling soft and moisturized. Now you can add any amount of pure silk amino acids to your haircare formulation, allowing you to set the bar where YOUR hair likes it to be. **If your hair is protein sensitive, please start with a low to moderate amount and work your way up from there.**

~magnesium sulfate (for optimal curl enhancement - you set the amount from none to a ton!)

~aloe vera (for added moisture)

~glycerine (humectant – not recommended for very dry climates)

~clover honey or agave nectar (your choice, for shine and hold - honey offers a little harder hold than agave)

~Beneficial Oils
*coconut (fractionated - liquid)
*macadamia nut
*plum kernel
*sweet almond
*castor oil
*avocado oil
*abyssinian oil
*hemp seed oil

~Scents (I try to get good descriptions for the ones that may not be well-known!)

*chocolate mousse FO (not to state the obvious, but smells like a freshly made milk chocolate dessert)
*coconut lime verbena FO (creamy blend of coconut and tangy lime with hints of verbena, vanilla and musk)
*Auric Blends Amber FO (pretty much what you expect amber to smell like - warm and slightly spicy - advised to go lightly on this one, as it can be very strong)
*Yakshi Sandalwood FO (cooler scent than the amber, with more woodsy tones)
*Yakshi Lover's Moon FO (floral and deep, but fresh - reminds me a little of lilacs and gardenias)
*Yakshi Chinese Rain FO (clean and fresh, watery tones and florals)
*Mary Kay Velocity type FO (citrus & floral)
*B&BW Juniper Breeze FO (fresh and clean - not sure what else to say except that I love it and have since high school!)
*B&BW Brown Sugar & Fig FO (this sensual amber-floriental blend begins with top notes of fresh fig, passionfruit, and peach, leading to a floral middles of orchid, freesia, and muguet, atop a rich bottom of vanilla bean and fig leaves drizzled with maple sugar and coconut milk. If this concoction sounds too "food-y," fear not -- the florals and a splash of velvety musk make it slyly sexy and grown-up.)
*B&BW Freesia FO (a bracing, crisp floral, perfect for spring and summer)
*B&BW Green Clover & Aloe FO (fresh-floral, bright citrus, and leafy green top notes, leading to a heart of water lily, jasmine, and eucalytpus. The fragrance ends with bottom notes of musk and soft woods. Lovers of fresh scents will love this one!)
*B&BW Sweet Pea FO (sweet, simple floral begins with green, water-caressed top notes of lily of the valley, summer melon, and apple. A fruity-floral middle of jasmine and rose blended with orange and lemon oils leads to a drydown of white musk and vetiver)
*vanilla buttercream FO (just like sweet, buttery, vanilla buttercream frosting - but keep it out of your mouth!)
*cupcake FO (smells a little like buttercream, but with a touch of brown sugar - a slightly deeper sweet scent)
*lavender FO (not the essential oil - less medicinal)
*tropical vacation FO (like real coconuts and sea spray - not tanning lotion!)
*blueberry FO (yep - pure blueberries! Mixes great with other berries and fruits or vanillas, including buttercream and cupcake)
*Burt's Bees Baby Bee Buttermilk type FO (love this one - it was the only baby lotion we ever used on my daughter, so to me, it smells like her when she was little)
*pink grapefruit FO (pure pink grapefruit - citrusy and bright)
*awapuhi seaberry FO (Awapuhi is Hawaiian for "white ginger", and this one is lightly floral but has a nice fruity topnote as well)
*blackberry & sage FO (the fruity sweetness of blackberry paired with calming, herbal sage)
*coconut lemongrass FO (a touch of Thailand, with equal parts fruity and exotic - makes me think of Jamaica)
*fresh grass FO (yes, it smells just like fresh cut grass! awesome unisex fragrance)
*green tea FO (pure and simple green tea - fresh and clean all by itself, but blends well with blueberry and strawberry, or fresh grass too!)
*sage, sweetgrass & cedar FO (Russian sage blends with Canadian fir needle at the top of this fragrance, leading midnotes of Canadian cedarleaf and bottom notes of Texas cedarwood, oakmoss, fir balsam, and alpine hay. A very nice clean, outdoorsy scent for those who don't care for "perfumes", or a great unisex fragrance)
*strawberry FO (like a real, fresh, juicy strawberry - would be awesome with vanilla buttercream, cupcake, or blueberry!)
*sweetgrass FO (a complex, fresh, grassy fragrance with a bit of a sweet note - good unisex fragrance)
*white musk FO (Green aldehydic top notes give way to a playful, flirtatious floral middle of rose, jasmine, muguet, and ylang, which quickly yields to the most intoxicating, heady, sexy, clean finish of vanilla, amber, moss, and clouds and clouds of white musk)
*eastern amber FO (Sweet jasmine, soft rose and sensual amber with a citrus & bergamot top are surrounded by rich sandalwood, patchouly and white musk.)
*Egyptian musk FO (sensual blend of musk and base note florals. Deep, dark, sensual and musky)
*elements of bamboo FO (bamboo and cedar entwined with lemon, tangerine and ginger. Exotic, cooling, and refreshing. Great unisex fragrance!)
*Tahitian flowers FO (from the same flowers Monoi de Tahiti is made from - Tahitian gardenia and a fresh twist of tropical fruit)
*lemongrass & lavender EO blend (more lemongrass than lavender - fresh and light with a hint of floral)
*lemongrass EO (straight lemongrass, citrusy and bright with a slight green note)
*sweet orange EO (juicy, ripe sweet oranges - smells good enough to eat!)
*rosemary EO (herbal and clean, but can be slightly medicinal)
*ginger EO (slightly sweet and spicy)
*clary sage EO (herbal and fresh)
*lilac hydrosol (not an oil, smells sweet - just like real lilac blossoms in spring)
*butterfly meadows FO (delicate floral with green notes - smells just like you think a meadow should! Notes of dandelion, heliotrope, and fresh grass.)
*clean laundry FO (like laundry dried on the line outside. Notes of peony, marine, and fresh air.)
*guava fig FO (fresh, sweet and fruity - smells just like a fresh guava. Notes of apple, cassis, guava, and pear.)
*lilac in bloom FO (like sticking your nose in a lilac bush in full bloom - just like the real thing, with more staying power than the hydrosol.)
*Tide (No, I'm not kidding. Just like the laundry detergent. Can anything smell more clean than that? About as unisex as any fragance ever was.)
*champaca & bamboo (If green had a scent, this would be it. Fresh and watery, and just plain clean. The freshness of bamboo combined with creamy tropical white flowers makes this a head-spinning, ultra-green fragrance. Top notes of cool green bamboo are softened and sweetened with a mid-section of jasmine, hyacinth, and champaca. Bottom notes of amber, clove, and oakmoss help to anchor the blend while providing just a hint of spicy intrigue.)
*rainforest (Smells just like walking in the woods when it's wet from rain. Notes of jasmine, florals, citrus, and light woods - a great unisex spa-like scent.)
*sun dried cotton (Clean, crisp, and fresh, like laundry dried on the line outside. Notes of lemon, mandarin, cotton blossom, ylang ylang, and rose.)
*south pacific waters (Like laying on the beach in Fiji and catching a cool breeze off the sea. Notes of ocean, sea moss, and vetivert make this one as great for guys as it is for girls!)
*crackling firewood (This is one I just HAD to smell. A combination of vanilla, sweet raspberries, and woodsmoke makes this one you won't soon forget. Certainly adds some intrigue to your fragrances!)
*white truffle raspberry (If you want to smell like a decadent dessert, this is the fragrance for you. My first impression out of the bottle was walking into a DQ store in the middle of summer - I was assualted by white chocolate, vanilla, and fresh sweet raspberries, and had to stop myself from licking the bottle. Yeah - it's that good.)
*Blue Agave (fresh, clean, and spa like, light and with a hint of citrusy crispness)
*Coconut (alright, for those of you who want to smell like a walking pina colada, this is the scent for you! Sweet coconut underscored with juicy, ripe pineapple. SLURP!)

*Caribbean Coconut (Pure, unadulterated, delicious coconut. Tropical and sexy, like a day at the beach!)

*Cocoa Butter (A soft, buttery fragrance, with all the sweet, irresistible richness of fresh cocoa butter. Nuances of chocolate and shredded coconut lead to a middle of maple, anise, and real cocoa extract, atop a rich, warm sweet base of tonka bean, musk, vanilla, and more chocolate. Sweet, rich, and long-lasting.

*B&BW Cucumber Melon (Top notes of fresh cucumber, ripe melons, apple, and pear lead to a floral heart of muguet, rose, jasmine, and cyclamen. A rich, sweet drydown is provided by oakmoss and vanilla.)

*Canteloupe (Sweet, creamy, and delicious. I'm allergic to real canteloupe, but I adore the smell - this is the scent that makes my mouth water, but without any of the allergic reactions!)

*Melon Ball (Delicious and fruity, like a melon-studded fruit salad. Notes of mango, papaya, watermelon, honeydew, and canteloupe.)

*Iris (A subtle, sophisticated white floral. Iris (also known as "orris") is one of the earliest perfume ingredients, and is still widely used in perfumery today. It smells a bit like violet but has its own unique charms.)

*Irish Spring (You know it, you love it. How much more fresh can it get?)

I ship at least once a week (more if volume warrants it), but usually once early in the week and once later. Federal holidays excluded, of course.

Thanks so much for your interest, and your orders!!
