CHP Unit #8321 (Pictures 2&3) is the car that I used for a model for being correct on many exterior paint/ decal placements on my cars restoration.

This car was in service at the Napa Ca CHP office from 8-15-1985 to 9-1-1987. I purchased the car from the CHP at the old motor transport car sales yard in south Sacramento Ca on 9-1-1987. I paid $3677.45 for the car on a sealed bid. This car was our family car for many years. The car was in my garage sitting for many years until 1999 when I delivered the car to Griggs Racing to have road racing suspension installed.The Griggs racing GR-40 suspension is explained here at this link http://www.griggsracing.com/article_info.php?articles_id=16

After the Griggs suspension was installed the car handles great! The car was then used for about 3 years on the weekends for open track events on many racetracks in Northern Ca. The car sat idle for the next 7 years in my garage. I was surfing the web one nite last winter and stoped by a 2 SSP websites called www.specialservicemustang.net and http://www.sspmustang.org/
I was interested in all the restorations that people have done on all the SSP mustangs in the country. I then joined both websites. I decided to do a in service restoration on my 1985 CHP Mustang.

The pics are posted in order from before the cars restoration (Restoration #1) to the current state of the car (Restoration #4).

The car needed very little body work.The crew here was very impressed by how clean the car was for being 24 years old. The car was painted by MAACO in Santa Rosa Ca.

They took there time and did a awsome job on the car as you can see by the pics.
