U*P*D*A*T*E*S- I've posted pictures of my second press of the summer. I've been natural for the most part for quite a few months now. Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions! Thanks.
These are photos of my hair after I press and flat iron. (Unless noted, I did my hair myself.)
Here's my routine:
1. Shampoo with Pantene Relaxed and Natural Breakage Defense 2. Condition with Pantene Relaxed and Natural Breakage Defense (* However, yesterday, since I had been wearing my hair curly and it had lost LOTS of moisture, I deep conditioned with Pink's Hot Oil Treatment. This product was great! My hair was considerably less dry and it acted as a light pressing oil, making my hair incredibly straight and shiny without the use of a flat iron cream.) 3. Apply a quarter-sized amount of IC Polisher Heat Protector Straightening Serum all over wet hair then blow dry using medium heat. 4. Part hair and press in sections, applying One 'N Only Ceramic Silk Thermal Protection Ironing Creme to the root of each part. Use very small amounts! VERY small. *this cream isn't needed if deep conditioning w/Pink's Hot Oil 5. Flat iron small sections of hair to eliminate the frizz at the ends of the hair. I have a Sedu, but I prefer to use my cheap Andis flat iron that I got from Wal-Mart.
That's it! I do this once a week if I'm wearing my hair straight.
