June~ Un-be-WEAVEable~~NO-heat challenge month 1 - Jun 7, 2007
-
So...I got my first weave ever, and I love it! I bought Dena Cali synthetic hair, #4, 12"-14" pack. They used a total of 3 packs on my big ol head. The type of hair was "Spanish wave" or something like that...I like it though. The front is left out so I can part it or pull it off my face. Total time: 3.5 hours. Total cost: $135.00 ($35.00 for the hair, $100.00 for the style) ******************************************8 NOTE: No APhogee this month. I was gonna do it before the weave, but didn't have time :( I promise to do it in July when I take the weave down! - Album was created 6 years ago and modified 5 years 11 months ago

July: Cornrows and Curls~~NO-heat challenge month 2 - Jul 1, 2007
-
07/05/07: Took the weave down. I had it in for EXACTLY 4 weeks. I had the shop take it down, and I did an Aphogee treatment that night.
My hair pretty much stayed cornrowed this whole month. I loved being able to get up and go within an hour!! *************************************************** Cost: $55.00 for 2 layers; $70.00 for 3 layers ***************************************************
The last week of the month, 07/29/07, I did a rollerset. I am gonna try to keep this in for 3 days (well it did take me almost 3 hours to do it), and then I may try a twist-out til I get the funds for my weave. Wish me luck! - Album was created 5 years 10 months ago and modified 5 years 8 months ago

AuGuSt~~No-heat challenge: MoNtH 3!! -
I am going to continue the non-heat challenge I have posed for myself as of June 1, 2007. I gotta wait till after I pay rent though...sista on a budget... :P
Week 1-2: Rollerset, freshly done August 4. Used my usual Procclaim Ice Pomade. I had to do something that was super-low maintenance since we went to vegas this weekend. I did the classic rollerset, and picked my hair out a little more than usual. The first few days resulted in a cute curly-afro. The rest of the week (til Aug. 11) it slowly came undone...straighter at the roots and curled @ the ends.
Week 3: Uhh...nothing really. I just applied my regular Joico products (foam and creme styling elixir) and picked my hair out :) It kina looks like I blow dried it. I bought a new hairband too! YES!
Mid-week 3: My first braidout! I copied another fotki users method...I just did 2 braids @ the nape, 3 braids above that, 2 above that and one big one in the front. Loved it! .
Week 4: nothing special. Aphogee on Aug 31
I'm so sad...no weave or braids... :-( - Album was created 5 years 10 months ago and modified 5 years 9 months ago

September~~No-HeAt ChAllEnGe: MoNtH 4 - Sep 1, 2007
-
Kay here's the plan:
Week 1(9/1-9/2): My first rollerset on magnetic rollers (see my products). I just went to Sally's and bought the purple ones. These are a little bigger than the green sponge rollers I normally use, so this should be interesting. I also purchased lottabody setting lotion. This seems to be a product that everyone who has done the roller set uses, so I think I'm good. Lonei, wish me luck girl! Week 1 continued (9/3-9/6): Uh, scratch the rollerset. Co-washed, and then had mom do 5 big flat twists for my first twist out!
Week 2 (9/7- ): 9 twists for another twistout w/Lottabody; Matrix Biolage Conditioning balm trtmt purchased on eBay), Redken Anti-Snap as a leave-in (thanks to EmpressRi). GOAL: Drastically improve state of my hair!
Week 3: Cornrows 09/15
Week 4: Cornrows, braidout, natural styles, pony - Album was created 5 years 9 months ago and modified 5 years 8 months ago
