Wallpaper collage suitable for 4:3 display. Image size: 1024x768.

Here is a good, informational page about this flower:

I sure wish I could go photograph this flower. I'd like to go to Thailand anyway and fighting mosquitos in the jungle in search of this flower may be like "Seven Minute Icing." ...Well beaten and awfully good. :-)

Click "Get Original Uploaded Photo" below to save to your pc if you like. You know you can turn off the icon disiplay by right-clicking on the desktop and choosing "Arrange Icons By" and then unchecking "Show Desktop Icons."

Windows 98 introduced a feature I have used ever since. Make a desktop icon folder. I call mine "Icon Bar." Put a copy of all your most used shortcuts in that folder. Then put the mouse pointer on the right edge of the folder and slide it as far out of sight to the left as possible. Release the mouse button and up pops an icon bar. Right-click on the bar and under "View," choose small icons. Then right click again and choose "Always On Top." Right-click again and choose "Auto Hide." When you slide your cursor/mouse pointer to the left edge, the bar pops out and you single-click whatever application you desire and the bar goes back out of sight.

Now, you can have a beautiful desktop without the obstruction of a bunch of icons and quick access to your apps. The icon bar does not have to go on the left border of your screen. You can choose any other; I just like it best because the right side has the scroll bar and it's too easy to go for it and get the popout tool bar. Of course, you'll get too close to the edge sometimes and it will jump out in your way. It does me. But FOR ME, the trade-off is worth the occassional popout. Afterall, it should be quick to respond! :-)
