We're going to pull last years car out and rebuild it for one more run! Our company assigns each driver a number. This car was numbered 18 the first year in honor of Earl, who had recently passed away. The number will be changed to 16, as that is my company number.

Our cars and the results for this year. The results certainly weren't what we hoped for! Jim's car, #24, burned out his ignition module and couldn't make his heat. My car, #16, ran ok, but the back end came up and I couldn't see where I was going. I got stuck up on the trunk of another car and was counted out. Jim's car will return in 2005 with a new ignition. I'm replacing the transmission, and flattening the back down on #16, and will run it again also. Thanks to Sam for sponsering us, Jim for his truck and trailer, and helping with the re-build, and Terra for her help. Pictures are by Becky, Bev, and Tracey.

Sep 15, 2005

This was a much improved year for us. Car 16 won it's heat, but had wiring problems and could not continue into the feature. Car 24 got trapped in a cornor by another car and was counted out. We repaired a leaking hose and replaced the battery and ran it in the feature. It made it about half way through before being disabled. #16 will return next year, The future of #24 is in question, but it will likely be stripped and scrapped. Thanks to Jim for his truck and trailer, and assistance, Brian and Randy for helping change the transimission, and Kirk for making #16 run right. These pictures are from 4 different cameras. Thanks Becky, Katie, Shirley, and Tracey!

Jim's Trailer - STOLEN!
Mar 15, 2006

Jim's trailer was stolen in early January. It was recovered today. Now we have to do some repair work on it to use it again. It's apparently been on a three month oddesy, changing hands about 3 times before it was located. These pictures show it where it was found.

Holmes County Fair Demolition Derby
Aug 19, 2006

This was my first time here. The car count was low, about 40 full size cars and around 18 compacts. Had trouble early on in my heat. I got clipped in the right front corner and broke a tie rod. It was still running good, but hard to manuever. I took a hard hit almost head on. I just couldn't turn enough to get out of the way! That took out a coil pack and I couldn't get it to move before being counted out.
Thanks to the following for their help in this effort - Terra for the car and pictures - Jim Randels, for his truck and trailer, and painting - Wes for painting - Jimmy for stripping the car - and Becky for taking pictures, picking up supplies, and generally putting up with me!

This is the 4th year for this car! We did ok again. I finished 4th in my heat, and qualified for the feature. We changed the radiator, battery, and beat the back end and right front fender out. Unfortunatly it quit running about 1/2 way through the feature. I suspect the motor locked up. If it did, this one will be scrapped. It's too badly damaged to replace the motor. Thanks to - Jim for his truck and trailer, and assistance, Wes for helping straighten the back end, Jimmy and Terra for helping get us out for the feature, and Becky for helping in any way she can, and for putting up with the maddness! First set of pictures by Becky, second set by Terra, and third set by Teresa. UPDATE 9/16/06 - The motor is locked up. I ran over something and punched a hole in the oil pan. This car will be scrapped.

Car #16 - Stripped and Scrapped

It's a shame to see this one go. It's ran 4 heats, won 2 of them and finished 4th in another. That's qualified it for the feature 3 times, and actually ran twice in the feature. This car has really been a good one!

Wayne County Fair Demolition Derby
Sep 13, 2007

We're running two cars this year. A 1998 Ford Crown Victoria in a full size heat and a 1999 Ford Escort in the compact class. Thanks to Sam McAfee for the Crown Victoria and his sponsership of both cars. Thanks Jim for helping build them, and the use of his truck and trailer, thanks Wes for helping strip the Crown Vic, and painting the doors, thanks Gwen for help in the pits, and thanks Becky for helping in the pits, taking pictures, and putting up with the maddness! This night could have been better! The Crown Vic got a pinched fuel line and quit running about half way through it's heat. Jim found the problem, fixed it, and had the car ready for the fearture if needed. The Escort preformed and held up well. It finished about 5th out of 22 cars. It overheated, then stalled. I had knocked the serpentine belt off, and ran the battery low and couldn't restart it. The Crown Vic will run again. The Escort may. I have to get into it, and see how bad the front end is. The radiator is gone, and the left tie rod broke. If I can pull the front out enough to clear the belt, it should be salvagable.
9/16/2007 - Update - The Escort is salvagable, and will run again!
9/17/2007 - Update - CORRECTION! After watching the video twice, the Escort actually finished 4th, just 1 spot away from the feature!
