The waters from the spring 2006 floods had barely receded when this building on South Main Street caught fire late one night. Lots of damage to the street level shops and 9 housing units, but miraculously no injuries.

The response was delayed because the bridge supports were eroded by the flood and the fire trucks had to take a 7-mile detour.
