Models I have built. For the first 10 years of my modeling career, I stuck to cars only, (both street cars and NASCAR) but have now branched out into every other category of modeling I can think of!

I love Box art on model kits. In fact, I've been known to buy a kit simply because of it's boxart! I have or have had at one point every kit seen in the photos, although I no longer have them all.

No longer just cars! Since joining the HVHMG in 2009, I've expanded my horizons to cover all forms of model building.

I take alot of group pictures of my model cars. Enough to warrant it's own album, even.

NASCAR models in progress.
In Summer 2007 I made a self-imposed rule that I would not start any more NASCAR models until I finished some of the ones I had in progress. I had 116 at the time, I have 94 in progress now...(3/5/08)

This will cover anything that is not cars. I have DC Comics, Star Wars, a few airplane models, and who knows what else I will get in to! Blame it on the HVHMG, I build cars exclusively for 10 years and now I've expanded my horizons! (but I'm NOT complaining! :) )

When I finish up a model, I don't always have enough pictures or interest to give it it's own album, but the in progress shots sit there cluttering up the already crowded in progress sections. Not anymore. If a car is shown in this album, it is already done and can be found in the two All My Models section! This album is a mix of street and NASCAR.

I have some models other people have built...they will go here.

I have been building models since 1999, and entering them in shows and contests almost as long. I don't have a great track record but at the time of this album's creation, I have won 4 times for my models, three of those times at HVHMG events!

This is my 1000th album on Fotki, as well!

I have a very small area to display models on, so pretty much every time I finish a new one, the display gets changed up. It's also gone through a number of diffrent styles over the years.

These photos were taken in 2001. I know the date only because two of the pictures are of the things I purchased at the 2001 NNL East, my first model car show. They were taken with a standard 35 MM camera and scanned in on October 18th and 19th, 2005. These were probably the second batch of model car pictures I ever took, as I know I had a small photo album at the first NNL for me. Since these came after it, they were probably my second.
There are some builds in here that have gone missing, or have just completly come apart and these are the only known photos of them. Some do not survive to take new photos.
Unfortunatly many shots are blurry. At the time I was 16 when I took these pictures.

I began building models in 1999. For many years I was turned out model after model of poor quality. I don't really want them in with my good models, so I will create this album of my early models and be able to see just how far I've come!

A select few of my early models are good enough to make it into my "All My Models album"...

From TNMCC meetings to NNLs, I display my models from time to time and this is their "Show Off" collection of photos.

Track My Progress from Crappy to less crappy to, finally, even good. I'm finally building models that I consider good. And expanding my horizons!
Had to use the three digit system so they would be in number order.

There's nothing better then Lake George. And there is not much better then building models. I build every trip to Lake George, and from now on I will be photographing every car on the beach, although it is a bit condition sensitive and may not be possible. I won't take them out in the rain, or if the paint is not fully cured before we have to leave.

In my other model albums, I have them in year order and in order of completion. Since the majority of what I build is NASCAR models, I created this album to show them in car number order.

We moved into our house in 1977 and we finally emptied it for the first time late 2004. Amazingly, we found 5 models in it! 3 were build by my dad and two were unbuilt!

Was the Hobby Heaven Double Dawg Dare Ya Challenge, but the challenge these photos were taken for ended 2 years ago...

So now it's just a more detailed look at the old kits in my collection....

I still plan to build most of them eventually!

Back when I first started building, I used a comic book backing board and drew small squares, filling them with each diffrent color, effectivly making a paint chart. Unfortunatly, I have misplaced it and not seen it in a few years.
On May 31st, 2006, I set out to recreate that chart.
It involved sorting my entire brush paint collection and shaking up some bottles that in some instances had not been touched since 2001.
This time I used two magazine sized backing boards, one for enamel paints and one for acrylics.
I am still trying to determine a way to make a chart for my rattle cans....

In addition to the seemingly endless projects I start myself ( :) ) I have also aquired a number of projects that other people started. Some I've worked on, some I have not yet, but here they are...

I start many model car projects. Some go on to happy, completed lives. But some will never be done for a variety of reasons. These are those cars.
Includes major blunders on my part, things that won't work or I can't figure out, and basically projects that I have given up on for whatever reason.

Many of my early photos are of poor quality, poorly lit, blurry, out of focus, etc etc.

They have been, or will soon be, replaced by better photos. At which point, the old, not-good photos will go in this album!

Stuff that has been, is or soon will be for sale on Ebay or eModelCars. Even when I do sell something I will not be removing the pictures so it'll be there long after it's gone.

aka, the Grom. This build, also dubbed the World's Ugliest truck and the World's Ugliest Model Car, composes bits from at least 19 diffrent kits...I don't even know where all the parts came from! It also includes an old set of mom's earrings and part of an ice pop handle. I've been collecting parts for this beast since 2000, and joking on the Hobby Heaven Message board finally prompted me to do it...

What can I say, I buy alot of kits!

A short demo on how to wire a wheel to your model.

My friend Danny Tarpley offers a cheap, resin conversion for the 1989-92 Chevy Lumina, a common kit, by repopping the nose and tail section from the somewhat less common 1993-94 kit.
This is a fairly detailed How To on using them.
I chose a 1992 Jeff Gordon kit so the blue plastic would contrast well with the white resin.
The photos that are titled are the parts of the series, the photos that have just my date-coding are photos I have a better version of.
