Box Art

I love Box art on model kits. In fact, I've been known to buy a kit simply because of it's boxart! I have or have had at one point every kit seen in the photos, although I no longer have them all.

No longer just cars! Since joining the HVHMG in 2009, I've expanded my horizons to cover all forms of model building.

1941 Ford Woody

This kit has been in my model car stash the longest. I began building in November of 1999, using kits that I had recieved as gifts in the mid 1990s- roughly 94 and 95- and I built them one at a time. OK, so I only had two of them. Then, I went to the local Wal-Mart and bought a Revell 48 Ford Woody and 66 Pontiac GTO- they became, in rapid succession- my builds #3 and 4. Then, we went back to Wal-Mart and filled a shopping cart with kits. Well, it felt like filling it but in reality, it was really only 7 kits, that I can recall. This is the only one that remains unbuilt from that time. (doing the woodgrain seemed above my skill set at the time- honestly, I think it still is some 11 years later!) I did, however, put a very lousy blue brush paint job on it back around 2001 or so.

After that cart fill, I soon discovered my local hobby shop, where I am still a regular customer to this day, although mostly for paints these days. I don't plan to ever finish this one. I want that one unbuilt kit to always be #1. (Believe it or not, I do plan to build all the kits I have! A standard build only takes me roughly 2 days if I'm on a roll, most of the time I have trouble getting into it though!) I sold the ones I knew I would absolutely never build.
