I think that stamps are interesting and a worthy hobby to pursue, but I know practically nothing about them. Some of them in the album need to be rescanned, but the majority of my collection is packed away and will be scanned at some later date.
Most of my collection has been pulled off of envelopes.
So, in 2012 I finally got myself a Scott catalog. I think it would be very possible to get a complete run of US stamps from WWII to the end of the licking era. (Yes, I actually like the taste of stamp adhesive!) The majority of them sell for under a quarter. And that's the book price...reality is a lot lower. Not a single one...of the hundreds produced in that time frame...books for more than $20, not counting errors, which I would not consider part of the main set anyway...Hmm...Time will tell if I can pull it off, but I'm going to work on it.
