Anita Grant Rhassoul Conditioner
Jan 7, 2008

~~Borrowed from the website, anitagrant.com~~

ONLY suitable for naturally curly hair, locs & natural Afro hair.

Our Rhassoul Deep Condishes contains Unrefined Black Cocoa Butter & natural Soya based Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) which helps to guard scalp & hair from free radical damage. When hot liquid is added to our Rhassoul Deep Condishes, it swells & increases its surface area like a highly porous sponge. Attracting & trapping toxins into these open porous spaces so that when it comes time to rinse the Rhassoul Deep Condish from your hair the toxins are eliminated and you're left with detoxified fluffy soft tresses.

So instead of a Hot Oil treatment why not detoxify your scalp & hair.

Instructions below are for freshly washed hair only.

What you will need:
a) Heat resistant bowl
b) Disposable shower cap
c) Hand Blender with whisk attachment or a manual whisk or a fork
d) Boiling hot liquid of choice (see below) - 60 ml per individual heart.
Add more liquid for a thin consistency & less liquid for a thicker consistency.

Liquid of choice:

* Plain Hot Water

OR

* Flaxseed liquid (1 teaspoon of flaxseeds & 30 ml of hot water)

OR

* Pure 100% Coconut Milk (personal favourite as the scent of the Coconut Milk & Cocoa Butter combine = YUMMY!)

Or you can use infused herbs like dried:

* Organic Blue Malva
* Organic Chamomile
* Organic Lavender
* Organic Pink Rose Buds

Total time required = 10 minutes

How to mix in 3 easy steps:
1. Place Heart(s) in a heat resistant bowl
Be very careful when adding hot liquid.
Use the fork to break up the Heart(s) & let it sit in the hot liquid for a minute.

2. As the mix starts to break up stir with fork until the Heart(s) dissolves into a thick melted milk chocolate consistency. Use hand blender or whisk should you require a thicker texture.

3. Ta-Da! Your mud is now ready.
Allow the Rhassoul mud condish to cool down sufficiently prior to application.

Once mixed with the liquid of choice please use immediately.
Apply to your hair and scalp, cover with a disposable shower cap or cling film or nothing - it's your choice because it will not drip.
Leave the condish on for:
15 - 20 mins for regular deep conditioning
45 minutes for maximum deep conditioning.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water, dry & style as usual.

So this wasn't hard to use at all. My hair did feel very soft and fluffy as Miss Grant promises, so all in all this is a keeper.

    Blended Beauty Volcanic Mask

    Since everyone is raving about it....first saw it on Spiral's fotki!!

    From the BB website...

    No 'Poo' or No Shampoo Routine. This natural clay, derived from volcanic ash, acts as a magnet to remove dulling cells, pollution, build-up and toxins, then polishes hair for a fresh, bright, smooth, and soft finish. This clay is super fine and not gritty. It rinses away like sugar and has Blended Beauty's wonderful fresh scent.

    Directions: Place desired amount in a bowl. Add warm water until creamy. Section the hair and apply the mud on the scalp and spread downward. Leave the mud on for 30 minutes or until it is almost dry. Rinse with warm water. Use conditioner.

    My own take: this stuff was definitely good. HOWEVER....being that I had to use the whole jar, I'm just going to get my own bentonite clay and marshmallow root powder to use. And the BB one does not have it's signature scent lol it smells just like marshmallow root. I will stick to the BB conditioners, as they made my hair feel quite lovely afterwards.

    Kinky curly curling custard
    Mar 6, 2008

    So I FINALLY used my kinky curly stuff!! It was easy to use and smells heavenly, I would definitely use it again.

    I washed with anita grant ylang poo bar. I added some baking soda to the second lathering to get my hair clean!

    Conditioned with aubrey's honeysuckle rose....yo lemme tell ya....THIS STUFF IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it hadnt worked for me before cause I cowashed with it. This stuff has to be used on freshly shampooed hair for me. I combed it through, left it in for 15-20 minutes in two pigtails and then rinsed.

    I used super diluted oyin honey hemp condish to keep my hair soaking wet. Then I tested the kc spiral spritz on one piece, which is better used for 2nd day hair, but I was just experimenting. so I sectioned my hair, put on the knot today, and then ran one finger through the kccc and applied it.

    Wowie. I must say this stuff IS different, the section you put it on, feels, different lol but i wasn't worried cause i read so many reviews and that was normal. after doing each section with the kccc, i then added a dollop more kt on top. I even have the pomade and I used a bit to smooth down the crown more, but next time ill just use it when my hair is totally dry.

    I banded it a bit with a cut off leg from some pantyhose lol courtesy of Chicoro. That sucka works! Iit didnt leave the crimps in my hair like the elastics do. I'm using cut off pantyhose legs from now on!

    now to this morning, WOWIE!!!!!!!!!!!!! i loooooooove my hair. i used the spritz to refresh some areas and put a bit more pomade in but I love it!!!!

    I used more kt than I thought I would, which I dont mind but I have to buy some more. you really only need a dab of the kccc. I probably could have used a bit more but my hair isnt sticky at all. It feels very soft and smells soooo good! dunno if it's the kc stuff or the aubreys which i can still smell

    This album is dedicated to Afroknots (heffa!) cause I was being lazy but as you see the pictures of me on the phone, I was talking to her and she made me upload my little bit of May pictures. Okay...it's more than a little bit but it is the same thing. One thing's for sure, I love that kinky curly curling custard!! I think I'm going to get a week long style at the rate I'm going!!

    The nasty thing

    Okay I DON'T condone heat, and hate using it on my hair, but the last time I pressed it was last Christmas? Yeah, and I needed a trim. Sadly, my hair grows in a way it has to be a cut a certain way else it will NOT fall properly. But I came across pictures I took and, what the heck, I'll show'em!

    Fyi, I do little trims with my hair in twists. When I get my hair trimmed thoroughly, it's by my hair dresser that's been cutting it for 5 years now. He is the bane of my hair shape's existence.

    July!! It's not hot, it's on hell!

    Now that I have something to add, I will. And since a little birdie who shall remain nameless (NowIAmNappy) is poking at me to update, here ya go! It's hot as I don't know what, so I've been keeping my hair in twists mostly and pulling them back. It's too humid to have my hair in my face!

    Dominican Republic baby!!

    So we stayed at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana, and had a blaaaaast!! Too bad it rained most of the days we were there, but that surely didn't stop us! It was also nice rolling out of bed, getting breakfast, then rolling back to bed or going to the beach, pool or to play "Vengo" as the guy pronounced it lol! (He meant "Bingo"). We had soo much fun and everyone there was so nice! It was almost a damn shame to come back to mean ole New York. But I have the traveling bug, let me tell you. The pj'ism may have to be put on halt cause a sister wants her passport stamped up now!

    September madness

    Yeah...it's sort of not in order! LOL the pictures with the hair fork was BEFORE the cornrows were put in, but hell I'm tired lol. Anyway THANK YOUUUUUUUU to everyone that comes by and shows love. If I don't get back to ya right away, know I'm not ignoring you I'm just a busy little bee!

    I am enjoying this cut too, if you can't tell. Sorry the first pictures of the 'do undone are darn near the same lol but I couldn't help myself!

    November

    So I'm still around, still playing and learning and experimenting lol. I have some dark photos here cause, it's getting darker earlier now, something I never get used to. But...the hair is growing back! I'm enjoying the cut, I can do things that I wasn't able to before. Only thing...it tends to become larger than life and then it gets in my eyes lol. But I'm not complaining!
