Companies encountered extremely heavy fire conditions on arrival. The first in crew was chased out once on their initial entry when the wind caught the fire and blew it back at them and out the front door. Crews worked hard for more than 2 hrs on an interior attack to bring the blaze under control. The house was a very large 3-1/2 story twin of ballon frame construction.
