5th & Spruce, Darby Boro, Hazmat

Somewhere beween 60 to 100 gallons of home heating fuel was dumped into the storm drains on 5th st @ Spruce. Crews from 04, 09, 10, 21, 26, & 37 were called in to help contain the oil before it entered the creek. A hazmat company along with vacuum truck were called in to suck the product from a storm drain basin where it had been stopped. The oil made it's way approx 1/2 mile thru the storm drains. Crews dropped booms into manhole covers along the route to soak up some of the product. Booms were also placed into the creek to catch any product that made it's way that far, but fortunately none did. Canteen-47 was also on scene for everyones dinner.
