Companies 38 & 35 were dispatched to 618 Loraine for the dwelling fire. P/D arrived reporting heavy smoke showing. Fire board re-dispatched for the working fire. 38-9 arrived o/s reporting heavy fire 2nd floor inside & out of a 2-1/2 story sfd. Crews mounted an aggressive interior attack while exterior crews knocked down the fire on the outside of the dwelling and protected the exposures. The home was a wood frame with cedar shakes on the outside. Fire was extending thru walls, soffet, and void spaces into the 3rd floor and roof. Crews made a good knock on the fire before it could extend to the rear of the home. Rescue-58 was called for the R.I.T. and air bank, along with 34 for the mass casualty unit for rehab. Medic-109, 34-7 and 56-7 were on scene for stand by.

Haverford Companies 58, 56 & Tower-34 were dispatched for the dwelling fire. they had heavy fire 2nd floor rear of a 2 story sfd. Crews from 58 led off with an 1-3/4 line to the 2nd floor and made a quick knock on the fire. 56 dropped the supply line while 34 did ladder & ventilation work. 38 was called for the r.i.t.

Fire Board dispatched companies 38 & 35 for the possible dwelling fire in the 800 block of Aubrey ave. P/D arrived reporting heavy smoke from the 2nd floor of 826 Aubrey. Engine-38 went straight in and led off with an 1-3/4 line while Engine 35 follwed them in with the supply line. They had fire in a 2nd floor bedroom of a large 3 story twin. Crews made a quick knock on the fire before any extension. Fire was placed under control just before the 1st 20 minute mark. PSP Fire marshall & C.I.D. were called to the scene. 1 occupant of the home was taken into custody on prior unrelated warrants.

P/D arrived reporting heavy smoke showing from a split level SFD, and requested medics for the smoke inhalation victim. 38-9 arrived & ordered Squad-38 to go in service with 1-3/4 and for Engine 35 to drop the supply line on the way in. Crews made a quick knock on the fire with extensive overhaul to be done. Rescue-58 was special called for the air bank. Ambulance 34 transported 1 male victim to crozer for smoke inhalation in stable condition.

Companies were dispatched for the working building fire at the Haverford Township Regional Court Building. Fm-1 arrived o/s reporting heavy smoke & fire showing. Crews made a quick knock on the fire and contained it to the outside of the building. Fire had run up the outside wall and burned an outside wooden fenced area. There was a smoke condition in the building which crews vented with ppv.

Companies had heavy smoke from the roof on arrival. Upon entry they found they had heavy fire in the basement. Crews advanced a 2" line to the basement while others checked the 2nd floor and vented. Fire got above them in the basement in a drop cieling and extended thru the walls and duct work to a 2nd floor rear bedroom. Crews did an excellent job stopping the fire from further spread.

Companies were dispatched for the bldg fire at the day care center. Arriving crews found light to medium smoke coming from the bldg, with the bldg evacuated. The day care is housed in a large 2 story Church. Crews from Engine-22 stretched an 1-3/4 water line while Ladder-3 dropped a supply line on the way in. A quick knock was made on a small fire on the 1st floor. Crews remained o/s for ventilation, and mop up.

At approx. 8:45 hrs, the LFC was dispatched to the Llanerch Quarry for a possible vehicle fire. E34 arrived on location to find a 1 story pump house well involved at the rear of the property. Lt. Maturo established Command and asked for the upgrade, bringing in Station 35 (Brookline), and Rescue 58 (Bon Air). Ladder 35 took the high ground at the corner of Prospect and Joanna Aves. while E34 and R58 entered from the Township Line entrance. FM-1 arrived on location and called for E38 (Oakmont) to assist with manpower. Ladder 35 utilized their master stream as the building was considered a loss. Crews wet down the surrounding grounds to prevent any further extension to the trees and brush. Spill 35 was called in to protect the waterway from any possible spilled materials by deploying oil-absorbing booms. 34-8 was brought in as well to assist with rehab and hydrating the crews. Companies were dispatched for the working dwelling fire with heavy smoke from the 3rd floor of a 3 story twin. Ladder-3 arrived and stretched a 2" handline to the 3rd floor. Interior crews experienced heavy smoke and heat conditions but made a quick knock on the fire, while exterior crews went to the roof to vent. F/F's also enterd the exposure dwelling to vent heavy smoke from that side of the bldg. Fire was held to the front bedroom of the original fire dwelling.

Fuel Spill, Darby Creek, W.C.Pike to Burmont rd

Haverford Township was alerted to diesel fuel in the Darby Creek. Bon Air & Brookline for the spill unit were initially dispatched to contain the spill. Eventually Springfield, Upper Darby, and Sharon Hill for their spill unit were all also on scne. In all over 1200' of boom were stretched across the creek in various locations. The fuel is believed to have possibly come from an mva on I-476 in which a truck ruptured a fuel tank. Companies were on scene for approx 3 hours.

The Brookline section of Haverford. Companies were dispatched for a garage fire. Brookline-5 arrived reporting heavy smoke from the garage. He had an SUV inside the garage with the engine compartment well off. Ladder-3 stretched two 2" lines. Had to get some pictures of LLanerch's new truck. Congratulations and good luck with it.

Llanerch, Brookline & Bon Air were disp to the 300 block of Bewley rd for the garage fire. The garage which was converted into a work shop, was hard to access being between Bewley and Valley rds in an alley. Companies had fire thru the roof. 4 handlines were in svc, two 2" lines, one 1-3/4 line, and one 3" blitz line. Engine-31 dropped 800' of 5" up the alley for supply.

Haverfored Twp Companies got the dispatch for the dwelling fire. Company 3(35), Engine-2(34) & Rescue-5(56). Brookline-5 (35-9), arrived o/s reporting fire showing from the 2nd floor of a 2-1/2 story SFD. He mmediately called for the next due engine to be added on the response, bringing engine-5(56). Crews from Ladder-3 assisted by crews from engine-21 advanced a 2" handline to the 2nd floor and made a quick knock on the fire. The 2nd alarm assignment was called for, for manpower purposes, bringing Tower-2, Engine-1(38) & Rescue-4(58). Companies were on scene for approx 2 hrs.

Company-1 (38) & Engine-5 (56) got the dispatch for the working garage fire, to the rear of the Holly House Apartments 37 W. Eagle rd. They had fire showing inside the first floor with heavy smoke pushing everywhere from a 2-1/2 story 25 x 75 garage. An overhead garage door needed to be cut for entry. Inside they found the engine compartment of a flat bed truck to be burning. Fire was held to the vehicle with no extension.

Brookline-6 (35-9A) reported a working bldg fire to Haverford fire radio. He req'd the bldg disp and the first engine to drop a 5" supply line. Crews stretched 4- 2" handlines to contain the fire. A front end loader was later brought in to level what remained. The bldg was used as an office for the old McCandless fuel oil company which once occupied the property.

Fire Companies were dispatched for the dwelling fire at approx 04:35 am. Arriving units found the back extension of the home fully involved with extension into the main house. Companies lead off with two, 2-1/2 inch water lines but were not making any progress. The fire fight took on an exterior attack, with multiple handlines, a deck gun and ladder pipe in svc. 3, 5" supply lines were used. 2 of those went to Quint-3 to supply the ladder pipe and hand lines. Companies operated o/s for more than 8 hrs. All 5 Haverford Twp Companies operated on scene.

2323 Darby Rd, 2nd Alarm Fatal Fire, Eagle Towers Apts

Companies were dispatched for fire in apt-112 with reported entrapment. P/D arrived o/s confirming a working fire with confirmed entrapment. Eng-12 went directly to the rear and led off with 2 1-3/4 water lines. Engine-31 dropped the supply line to the rear to eng-12. Ladder companies prepared for balcony rescues, but held off and had residents wait on their balconies and brought them down through interior fire towers. A 5 yr old boy was pulled from the fire room and rushed to Delco in Cardiac arrest. He was later pronounced at the hospital. 4 other elderly residents were transported for smoke inhalation.

2532 Prescott, Basement fire, 2 Firefighters through the floor

Oakmont-5 arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke from a 2 story SFD. He ordered engine-11 to drop a line on the way in and go into svc with 1-3/4 wtr line. Manoa-7 went to the interior with a line and shortly after advised Oakmont-5 that he and another firefighter had gone thru the floor. Fortunately the 2 were rescued without injury. With 2 lines stretched the fire was knocked and brought under control in approx 15 minutes.

At approx 02:45 Fire companies were dispatched for the dwelling fire. Llanerch 7A arrived reporting a working fire in the roof and eaves, 2nd & 3rd floor. Fire was also making it's way thru the walls. Numerous handlines were placed in svc. Crews did a good job of opening up and stopping this fire. Llanerch, Brookline, Bon Air on the original dispatch. Called for Ladder-3, & Oakmont for the R.I.T. and 1 engine for manpower. Medic-108 and Llanerch EMS were also o/s. Sorry, it took me longer getting these up. Ran to the Radnor job right after I left this one. Busy night

Fire was originally dispatched as unk type fire outside. P/D arrived o/s reporting heavy fire showing from a 2 story SFD. The assignment was upgraded to the dwelling fire with possible entrapment. 1 Victim was removed from the fire dwelling by firefighters and transported to Crozer Chester Burn unit with 1st & 2nd degree burns to over %30 of her body. Crews had 3 1-3/4 wtr lines in svc. A quick knock was made on the bulk of the fire, with extensive overhaul.
