Companies were dispatched to the above location for the bldg fire. Arriving units had heay fire throughout the bldg & through the roof. 2nd alarm was called for on arrival with all companies going in svc with master stream devices. The bldg was a commercial bldg approx 100 x 150 with a connected exposure bldg to the "D" side. There were numerous tankers docked next to the bldg , all had product onboard. Petroleum products and waxes were manufactured in the bldg. There were also numerous propane and acetelyne bottles inside the fire bldg. Numerous special calls were made for additional apparatus and manpower. Companies did a great job keeping the fire from spreading to the exposure bldg. A track-hoe was used to help push one tanker truck from the side of the bldg where it had collapsed around the tanker. Once freed from the rubble it drove on it's own power out of harms way.
This bldg is one of 2 remaining bldgs from the old Continental Business Center that burned in a spectacular fire back on May 15, 2000. - Album was created 2 years 10 months ago and modified 2 years 10 months ago

Very regrettably, I did not go to this fire, but a friend who did has offered me his pictures to post. Fire Fighters that responded to this fire were under the gun even before they got there with the amount of fire they had to contend with and rapid spread. Companies from numerous counties in Pa, and as far away as Maryland were on scene to fight this massive fire. As many as 450 residents lost their homes and everything they owned. Firefighters did everything they possibly could to douse the flames. It took over 6 hrs to bring the blaze under control. As of 2pm Thursday, companies were still o/s hitting hot spots.
