He req the box to be filled out, then placed all hands in svc with companies checking the exposures for extension. 1 victim was found d.o.a. inside the fire dwelling. Another victim was transported to the hospital with 3rd degree burns. The incident is under investigation by the Philadelphia Fire Marshall's office and Philadelphia Homicide division.

B/C-7 had heavy fire on the 4th floor of a 4 story 30 x 75 apartment bldg. He placed all hands in service with 1-3/4 water lines. Crews made a good knock on the fire, holding it to the rear of the bldg.

B/C-10 had heavy fire in a 2 story Mattress wharehouse. The bldg was irregular shaped approx 100 x 200. Fire fighters started an interior attack, but had extreme difficulty due to bldg construction being all brick with no windows for ventilation. B/C-10 requested the 2nd alarm and shortly afterwards evacuated the bldg due to an interior collapse. Crews then set up for an exterior attack. An exterior wall had 2 large collapses which also punched out a hole in a side wall, giving them better access to the fire. Numerous master streams and ladder pipes were in service. 1 F/F was transported with minor injuries, reported to be glass in the eye.

In all approx 12 homes were involved or damaged to some extent with 5 homes being a total loss.

B/C-1 requested snorkel-5 as a special call on F-60's report. Deputy-1 arrived and reported a pile of cars approx 3 to 4 stories high 300 x 175. He requested the second alarm. All hands were in svc with master streams.

Engine-68 was dispatched on a local for wires. On arrival they had heavy smoke from the 2nd floor of a 2 story m.o.r dwelling with fire in the walls and cieling. They requested the tactical box and B/C-7 placed 2 & 2 in svc.

A serious accident resulting in fire and injuries to Fire Fighters in engine-73's station. Members were preparing a reserve piece for service when it jumped into gear and ran into the wall between the bay doors, injuring the eng. Lt. and 2 other members. All hands were in svc using several hand lines and a deck gun. Rescue-1 and Squad-72 were in svc for extrication of the members and shoring up the bldg. The bldg sustained heavy fire and structural damage. 2 of the Fire Fighters sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
