Fire Board dispatched companies for the dwelling fire. Medic was added to the box due to p/d o/s reporting a shooting and fire. B/C-7 arrived o/s reporting Medium smoke from the 1st floor of a 2 story mor placing 2 & 2 in svc. He req the box to be filled out, then placed all hands in svc with companies checking the exposures for extension. 1 victim was found d.o.a. inside the fire dwelling. Another victim was transported to the hospital with 3rd degree burns. The incident is under investigation by the Philadelphia Fire Marshall's office and Philadelphia Homicide division.

B/C-7 had heavy fire in a 2 story mor dwelling. He placed all hands in svc and requested 2 add'l engines and ladders on the box. Special call for Engine-13 and air unit-1. 1 elderly female was found doa in the property.

B/C-7 had heavy fire on the 4th floor of a 4 story 30 x 75 apartment bldg. He placed all hands in service with 1-3/4 water lines. Crews made a good knock on the fire, holding it to the rear of the bldg.

B/C-10 had heavy fire in a 2 story Mattress wharehouse. The bldg was irregular shaped approx 100 x 200. Fire fighters started an interior attack, but had extreme difficulty due to bldg construction being all brick with no windows for ventilation. B/C-10 requested the 2nd alarm and shortly afterwards evacuated the bldg due to an interior collapse. Crews then set up for an exterior attack. An exterior wall had 2 large collapses which also punched out a hole in a side wall, giving them better access to the fire. Numerous master streams and ladder pipes were in service. 1 F/F was transported with minor injuries, reported to be glass in the eye.

I caught the 2 collapses, they start at pic numbers 41 & 62.

B/C-7 had heavy fire 1st floor of a 2 story vacant mor dwelling. Requested the box to be filled out and placed all hands in svc. Fire extended along the porch to the "B" & "D" exposure. Fire also extended to the 2nd floor of the original fire dwelling.

Engine-54 arrived reporting a 3 story dwelling with heavy fire through out, placing all hands in service with heaviest water lines. B/C-11 arrived reporting the same with a partial collapse and requested the 2nd alarm. All hands were in service with numerous master streams.

B/C-7 had heavy fire in a 2 story mor dwelling. All hands were placed in svc. Fire extended through the porches to both the Bravo & Delta sides of the original fire dwelling. Dep-1 requested 2 additional engines and 1 ladder to the scene, he also later req 2 addl medic units to the scene. 1 F/F was transported for heat related injuries. Several other F/F's were treated on the scene.

P/L-40 arrived o/s reporting heavy fire 1st & 2nd floor of a 2 story eor vacant dwelling, placing 2 & 2 in svc. B/C-7 arrived and placed all hands in svc. Crews had 4 lines operating, truck companies opened up.

E-41 arrived o/s reporting a 2 story mor 16 x 60 Heavy fire both floors placing all hands in svc. B/C-11 arrived and placed all hands on an exterior attack. Dep-1 requested the 2nd alarm for heavy fire with a partial collapse of the rear of the fire bldg, They had extension into the "B" exposure. Special call for Snorkel-5 who was placed into service in the front of the bldg.

B/C-11 had heavy fire in a 3 story twin, requested the box to be filled out.

B/c-3 had a 1 & 3 story bldg approx 15 x 60, bldg was occupied as a motor cycle club. He reported heavy smoke 2nd & 3rd floors placing 2 & 2 in service. He placed all hands in service and requested 2 additional Engines & Ladders to the scene, with heavy fire from the roof of the 1 story section in the rear.

Pipeline-40 arrived o/s reporting heavy fire in the rear of a 2 story eor dwelling. B/C-7 reported possible numerous victims in the house, he requested the box be filled out with all hands to go in svc. All hands to prepare for rescues. The 2nd alarm was sounded for extension into three exposure dwellings. A young boy was later found doa.

The box assignment was struck out at approximately 0340. Engine-25 arrived o/s reporting a 4 story 75 x 150 vacant bldg, fully involved. All companies to lead off with heaviest water lines. The 2nd alarm was struck on arrival. The fire eventually went to 7 alarms with several exposure dwellings becoming involved in fire also. All companies were in svc with numerous master streams, from the ground and roof tops. 2 victims were transported to temple with burns & smoke inhalation. 1 Fire Fighter was transported with unk injuries.

Companies arrived o/s to heavy smoke from the 1st floor of a 2 story Store front with apts above. All hands went in svc with heaviest water lines. 2 Ladder pipes with several deck guns and numerous handlines were placed in svc for an exterior attack. Hose lines were also stretched to the "B" & "D" roof tops for hand lines and deck guns, due to limited access problems.

B/C-7 had fire in the 1st floor rear of a 2 story twin. He placed 2 & 2 in svc.

B/C-11 had heavy fire in the 1st & 2nd floor rear of a 2 story eor dwelling. He had 2 & 2 in svc.

B/C-3 had heavy fire 4th floor of a 4 story apartment bldg with numerous people trapped. Ladder companies made numerous rescues via ground ladders in the rear. All hands were in svc with 1-3/4 water lines.

The tactical box was struck for 62nd & Kingsessing, Fireboard upgraded to a full box on p/d's report. P/L-40 arrived to a 2 story stand alone row type 2 story dwelling, fully involved. B/c-7 eventually placed all hands in svc on an exterior attack. They had a collapse of the roof and 2nd floor front wall.

B/C-7 had fire in a 3 story omd, placed all hands in svc with 1-3/4 water lines.

Engine-57 arrived o/s reporting 3 dwellings fully involved, req'd the box be filled out. B/C-7 placed all hands in svc with E-57's report, He called for the 2nd alarm on his arrival. Deputy-1 called for the 3rd alarm with 6 homes heavily involved in fire, with fire thru the roof. Numerous handlines were in svc on an interior attack, while master streams were in svc on other homes for an exterior attack. In all approx 12 homes were involved or damaged to some extent with 5 homes being a total loss.

Foam-60 arrived o/s reporting a very large junk yard fire and requested the box, with all hands to go in service with heaviest water lines. B/C-1 requested snorkel-5 as a special call on F-60's report. Deputy-1 arrived and reported a pile of cars approx 3 to 4 stories high 300 x 175. He requested the second alarm. All hands were in svc with master streams.

B/C-7 had fire in the roof area of a 3 story end of row, commercial 1st floor apts above. He placed all hands in svc.

B/C-11 had heavy fire in a 3 story mor dwelling. He had all hands in svc with 1-3/4 handlines. Crews removed a 6 month old from the fire bldg, but the infant was pronounced at the hospital.

Squrt-38 arrived o/s reporting heavy smoke & fire in a 3 story bldg approx 125 x 175. B/C-12 requested the 2nd alarm while enroute from Sqt-38's report. Numerous deck guns, ladder pipes, & 2 snorkels were placed into service. There were several major collapses with numerous explosions from the bldg.

B/C-7 had fire in a 3 story vacant 20 x 65, he placed 2 & 2 in svc. Req the FM for suspicious fire in a vacant.

B/C-7 Grimes, had heavy smoke and fire in a 2 story twin. He had all hands in svc with 1-3/4 water lines.

B/C-11 had fire in 1 apt on the 7th floor of an 18 story Hi rise apt bldg. All hands were in svc. The 2nd alarm was struck, but later recalled as the fire was placed under control.

Squrt-57 arrived on location reporting heavy fire from the rear of a 4 story, 16 x 45 end of the row OMD, with bar & Lounge on the 1st floor. Placed 2 & 2 in svc. B/C-7 arrived and placed all hands in svc requesting 2 add'l engines and ladders. Fire was in the 2nd floor rear of the bldg. Crews had numerous handlines in svc.

B/C-7 had fire in the 1st floor rear of a 2 story eor omd. He had 2 & 2 in svc. Companies stretched 2, 1-3/4 wtr lines and made a quick knock on the fire.

Ladder-24 arrived on scene to heavy fire from the 2nd floor of a 2 story commercial 1st floor apts above, approx 20 x 60. he placed 2 & 2 in svc. B/C-11 arrived and placed all hands in svc. Crews were evacuated from the bldg for an exterior attack, due to rapidly deteriorating conditions and with numerous power lines down on the "A" & "D" side of the bldg. Heavy fire extended to the "B" exposure and thru the roof. There was a major collapse of the "D" side 2nd floor wall. Fire extended into the "B-1" exposure. Dep-1 Mc Crory had all hands plus 2 extra engines and ladders in svc along with Squad-47 & Rescue-1. Special call for engine-13 and air unit-1. All apts were occupied and all occupants did get out of the bldg. No injuries reported.

Squrt-57 arrived to a 2-1/2 story twin 16 X 45 with heavy fire thru the roof, placing 2 & 2 in svc. B/C-11 arrived and req the box be filled out putting all hands to work. Fire fighters removed 3 victims to medic units, 2 other victims were also found in the dwelling. 4 of the victims were children, 1 an adult, all were pronounced DOA on scene. Companies had numerous handlines in svc, while truck companies, Squad-47 & Rescue-1 opened up.

B/C-7 had heavy fire in the rear all 3 floors of a 3 story twin. Fire extendedd thru the walls and void spaces. He placed the R.I.T. to work and requested an additional ladder. Dep-1 requested 2 Add'l Eng's & Lad's. Eventually they had 6 engines, 5 ladders, Squad-47 & Rescue-1 all working.

B/C-4 had a 2 story bar/Lounge approx 100 x 35 with heavy fire 1st & 2nd floor. Fire extended to the Bravo & Charlie exposures. Four alarms were sounded to bring the blaze under. Companies were in svc with numerous handlines and master streams. A very tight street made access difficult, some lines were operated from rooftops of exposure bldgs.

Squad-72 arrived on scene 1st reporting an irregular shaped 2 & 3 story bldg with heavy smoke 2nd floor, placing all hands in svc. B/C-9 arrived and req the 2nd alarm on arrival. He reported heavy fire 2nd floor, all companies to lead off with heaviest water lines and master streams. The fire reached 4 alarms within 30 minutes. The bldg was occupied as moving and storage.

Engine-68 was dispatched on a local for wires. On arrival they had heavy smoke from the 2nd floor of a 2 story m.o.r dwelling with fire in the walls and cieling. They requested the tactical box and B/C-7 placed 2 & 2 in svc.

A serious accident resulting in fire and injuries to Fire Fighters in engine-73's station. Members were preparing a reserve piece for service when it jumped into gear and ran into the wall between the bay doors, injuring the eng. Lt. and 2 other members. All hands were in svc using several hand lines and a deck gun. Rescue-1 and Squad-72 were in svc for extrication of the members and shoring up the bldg. The bldg sustained heavy fire and structural damage. 2 of the Fire Fighters sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.

B/C-1 had fire in a 4 story 150 x 100 vacant commercial Bldg. All windows were blocked up. All hands were in svc for fire in the basement. Companies were breaching walls and knocking out blocked windows for ventilation.
