At approx 6:50, the box assignment went out for the 200 block of East Boston. E-2 arrived to 1909 Hagert reporting heavy fire from the 2nd & 3rd floor of a 5 story commercial bldg, placing all hands in svc. B/C-8 arrived striking out the 2nd & 3rd alarms in quick succession with all hands to go in svc with heaviest water lines. The bldg was an irregular shaped, 2, 3, & 5 story bldg. Fire had extended throughout the bldg and thru the roof. Command requested the 4th & 5th alarms simultaneousley. All hands were in svc with numerous deck guns, ladder pipes and a squrt. Some lines were operated from the rooftop of an adjacent bldg. The fire was placed under control nearly 6 hours later at approx 12:55.

The box alarm was struck for the bdg fire at 34th & Clearfield. Engine-41 was 1st o/s reporting heavy smoke from the center of a 2 story commercial bldg approx 100 x 400. B/c-8 arrived assuming command and quickly struck out the 2nd, 3rd & 4th alarms for heavy fire in the bldg. They had numerous explosions from within the bldg. All companies were in svc with heaviest water lines. 4 Ladder pipes, 2 Squrts and numerous deck guns were placed in svc. Companies were also operating from adjacent roof tops with deck guns and mobile 2-1/2" hand lines. Additional medic units were req'd to the scene for rehab with the extreme heat of the day. The fire was placed under control at approximately the 2 hr mark of the incident.

Engine-20 arrived reporting heavy fire from the 2nd floor of a 4 story bldg, placing 2 & 2 in svc. B/C-4 arrived and placed all hands in svc, reporting heavy fire 2nd floor with heavy smoke through the 3rd & 4th floor and roof. B/c-3 req the emergency evac tones for all F/F's to evacuate the bldg. Companies went to an exterior attack. The 2nd & 3rd alrms were requested. Dep-1 (Marchisello) had all hands from the 2nd alarm and 2 engines from the 3rd in svc on an exterior attack, with the remainder of companies standing by. Fire extended to the 3rd & 4th floors and into the roof area and the "D" exposure. Companies re-entered the bldg to open up and hit hot spots. The fire was placed under control in just over an hours time. Correct address of fire was 339 n. 11th st with extension to 337.

Squrt-57 arrived o/s reporting heavy fire 1st & 2nd floor of a 2 story mor dwelling placing 2 & 2 in svc. B/C-11 arrived o/s reporting same and req the box to be filled out with 3rd & 4th due engines to go to the exposures. Companies had numerous handlines in svc and made a good knock on the fire.

Squad-72 arrived to a "C" shaped 7 story omd approx 75 x 150 with heavy fire showing from the 6th floor, they placed 2 & 2 in svc. The M.I.R.A. was then struck. B/c-2 placed all hands in svc on his arrival reporting heavy fire from possibly 2 apts on the 6th floor. Shortly after his arrival he req the 2nd alarm. All hands were in svc with 3" lines into the bldg, broken down to 1-3/4 lines. A good knock was made on the fire with no extension reported. The fire was placed under control at approx the 30 min mark.

E-54 arrived reporting heavy smoke & fire pushing from the 2nd floor front of a 2 story mor dwelling. He placed 2 & 2 in svc. He also reported he was recieving reports of people trapped inside the dwelling. B/C-11 arrived o/s and req the box to be filled out and an addl medic to the scene. He had 2 victims that were rescued from the property. He now reported heavy fire 1st & 2nd floor rear with all hands in svc. Crews made a quck knock of the fire. 2 females were transported to H.U.P. by medics 3 & 23 as trauma alerts for smoke inhalation.

E-68 arrived to heavy smoke 1st & 2nd floor of a 3 story twin approx 25 x 70. He placed 2 & 2 in svc. B/C-11 arrived reporting heavy fire 2nd floor with crews making progress. He then ordered the evacuation of the bldg due to a collapse of the rear. All hands went in svc on an exterior attack with mobile 2-1/2" lines. A large tree had fallen into the rear of the house pulling the electric svc from the bldg prior to the fire.

Engine-24 arrived o/s reporting heavy fire from a 3 story bldg approx 50 x 75, placing all hands in svc. B/C-4 arrived o/s and ordered the evac of the bldg and requested the 2nd alarm. All companies were to go in svc with heaviest water lines. A 3rd alarm was requested with all companies in svc with deck guns and operating from exposure roof tops to access the fire. There was a collapse of a large portion and roof of the fire bldg late into the fire.

B/C-1 arrived on scene reporting a 1 story commercial property approx 50 x 75 with heavy smoke through out. He ordered all companies to lead off with heavieast water lines. Crews were on an interior attack but were forced out due to deteriorating conditions. All crews were pulled out for an exterior attack and the 2nd alarm was ordered. 2 engines were special called above the 2nd alarm for water supply to the rear of the bldg. All crews were in svc with master streams, ladder pipes and a squrt.
