Firefighter John Anderson, Philadelphia
Aug 8, 2008

John Anderson, the only Philadelphia firefighter to lose his life in the line of duty, outside city limits was honored by the placing of a memorial plaque outside of Cardington-Stonehurst Fire Company in Upper Darby. The fire was in the Western Ice Building along Cobbs Creek in the Stonehurst section on August 8, 1918. Companies from Upper Darby, Lansdowne and Millbourne along with engine companies 41, 54, and 57 from Philadelphia fought the blaze. John was running with engine-54 when they got the call. He was climbing a ladder on the western wall when it suddenly collapsed, burying him under the rubble for several hours before his comrades were able to reach him. John's name will also be included on a plaque on the Fallen Firefighter and EMS Memorial being erected in Rose Tree Park, Delaware County.

Officer Dennis McNamara, Plaque dedication
May 1, 2008

A dedication and unvieling of a plaque in the memory of officer Dennis McNamara was held adjacent to the scene where he was brutally murdered. Police officers from Upper Darby, State police, and surrounding community departments, as well as Fire Departments, Government officials and citizens were all on hand for the ceremony. Mrs McNamara was also on hand with her 2 children. She stated, she knew Dennis was there with us all in spirit and was just waiting for the rain. Shortly after the ceremony, the rain did come, just enough to let us all know "He was there with us".

Mike Reagan Memorial Folder
Oct 6, 2007

In Memorial to Michael, and in thanking only some of the many who, showed thier support.

In the weeks time I spent with the Sharon Hill & Holmes Fire companies. I amassed a folder of pictures of the events, memorials, and preparations that took place. I have been asked by the Fire Fighters and Freinds if I could post some of those pictures also. In respect to all of those involved and their privacy, many of those photos are for the Family and Fire Companies involved, and will not be posted. This folder does have many of the visits, memorials, and preparations. It also contains only some of the many Fire Company cover Companies , including 1 response, by the Companies that were covering Station-43 on the day of the Funeral, the many Companies that had their apparatus at the staging area in Rose Tree Park, the viewing and funeral.

Michael was obviously known and loved by many. His life lives on in spirit, and in those that he and his family so generously & courageously gave life to, with the donation of his organs.

May He Rest in Peace.
