Hello, I read somewhere else on the Internet that Kenneth Macaulay, who was killed in the Normandy invasion, is buried in Long Island National Cemetery. Also my brother-in-law knew him and was there when he was killed. regards Joe
I remember walking down those steps to get on the train to Hartford, where my grandmother (Julia E Polmatier) would take me to buy my new Easter outfit. It was so exciting for me, hearing the thunder of the train arriving making butterflies in my stomach. The crash of the wheels and steam, my grandmother trying to hold her hair in place. These were some of my favorite memories! Whenever I ride by the train station, I wish I could go inside to see where my grandmother and I would wait for the train!
Also, my grandmother's sister (Sadie Wallace) would take the train to Hartford to work everyday!
Personally, I would like to see the station stay where it is! For me, and I am sure many others, it would not be the same if moved.
