Floyd's Hostel (www.floridahostel.com) is one of several hostels in the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida area. $22.00 per night gets you a bunk bed in a room with several other people, a kitchen, bathroom and tv room. It's sort of like sharing a motel room with new found friends.

Mind the dirty dishes, messy bathroom, clutter of assorted clothes and packs, it's fun communal living on the cheap. And I didn't see a roach or feel one bedbug!!! All in all, there were about 8 rooms so there are alot of travelers (and some locals) milling around. Oh,,, did I mention free internet access? Well, that's when it's working,,, not my luck...

The first few days were Cloudy, Rainy, Windy and not so warm... but 60F and rain in Florida is better than 15F and Snow, Ice AND Wind in New Jersey'-)))))))

This is the night we visited the Seminole Indian Casino Hotel Resort where Anna Nicole Smith was staying. The next day we found out she was found dead in her 6th floor hotel room... What a shame... Gary

Today Steve stayed at the hostel to order parts for his car and to try to get the brakes fixed. After uselessly standing around for awhile I decided that it would be best for me to go off on my own... Main part of the day was the Water-Taxi ride... 3 hours roundtrip for $11.00 getting off and on as needed. Enjoy!!! Cheers!!! Gary
