High Dynamic Range tone mapping multiple lighting strike captures into a single photo does not seem possible. The program affects the actual strikes, deleting portions of them. At least that has been my experience.

But you can tone map using a single shot, captured in either jpg or RAW, and still use the tone map features for some interesting and beautiful results. This photo was tone mapped with the original shot image as well as four lightened/darkened versions prepared before the HDR program was used.
