I was lucky to be there on one of those rare days when white snow adds new look to well-known buildings.

Entrance to the Inside of Rüstem Pasha Mosque

There is no door. Instead, one needs to lift this leather curtain to get in.

    Наверно пришло от древних обычаев, при строительстве шатра использовать шкуру животного. Во всяком случае, рисунок очень напоминает шкуру.

      Интересная мысль. Я вот, посмотрев на эти зелёные детали, не поняла, зачем они (вроде не особо они украшают-то :), но может и действительно это некая традиция, оставшаяся от чего-то ушедшего в прошлое. Надо будет поинтересоваться при случае.
