Nara - Parks

Founded in 710 AD, Nara was the first capital of Japan and the far eastern destination of the Silk Road. Most Nara’s temples and shrines are located in a huge park, which makes walks between them really pleasurable.

Pond in the rear garden

Another important element in the rear garden is the large pond with a small island surrounded by artificial hills and a stream, which runs through the garden. The path continues around the pond passing through groves of plum, maple and cherry trees as well as large hedges of Azalea.
