Byodo-in Buddhist Temple in Uji

The temple’s Phoenix Hall, which looks into the country’s most famous reflecting pond, houses a marvelous statue of Amida Buddha made by Jocho, the most famous sculptor of Buddhist images, who lived during the late Heian Period (XIth century).

    Somehow I never dreamt that they would show so much of their lovely legs as young ladies in Japan , goes to show how one imagines so wrongly ,LOL!
