    A very rugged, compelling shot.

This man has a face that tells many stories without a spoken word.

    Hi Jon,
I came across your site by chance .... i clicked on one of the photo's that show randomly on the front page.
I love photo's of people's faces as they are full of character and depth, there's a lot to be seen in someone's face and especially the eyes, as i believe the eyes are the window to your soul.
The man in this picture, i feel their is a great sadness and loss in his eyes, but also reminiscense.

    Hi Nina!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and look at some of my work.

Yes, this guy has seen a lot of sadness in his lifetime. Entered a frontal shot of him in the Emotions contest and came in second (piture shows jon tooting his own horn :)) ). I should have titled it Sad Resignation but the words wouldn't come till the voting had started.

I am so glad that the picture of this man you entered for the emotions competition is doing great! I personally prefer this one but they are both outstanding and the other one is best for the emotions I guess! I am glad that in the end he trusted you enough to let you take his portrait!

Love the look in his eyes and the tight crop! Great portrait!

Thanks Thomas. At first he was frightened by the camera. After a bunch of coffee and letting him take my pic we just started talking. All of a sudden he turned and looked out the window.............
