Shanghai was excellent.....maybe it was because of what seemed like endless rows of street food vendors or the 5 star hotel we stayed in...we had a blast shopping and doing nothing....Gas got fat on this 3 day trip..haha

One of the last times we went to Reggae with Richard...Awww we miss you!! Luckly didn't get too drunk to still know there was a camera around...phewwwww

After getting off a 13 hour train ride and puking all the way from Hangzhou to Beijing, we headed off to Tiannamen Square and Forbidden City on 2 hours of sleep!! I missed out on seeing Mao though =(

A day spent at the Summer Palace. Lots of nice gardens and corridors. Later we went to Wang Fu Jing to check out the famous eat street and took our chances with some fried scorpian and seahouse. I know now that anything fried is good!! Then ended the day with Peking Duck.

This was totally awesome, mind you we nearly all died climbing the wall because it started to pour down with rain and because we choose the ruin part of the wall to climb, everything turned muddy....but we did it...ALL 10kms of it!

Shopping and eating to kill time before our train to Xi'an.

We joined some stupid ass tour that took us to 4 places before actually going to the Warriors....there were so many of them! =)
After that we went to the "real" tomb of the Qin Emperor. The tomb might not be there because its really bad luck to open it.

They might look a little sad in their cages but trust me they are living the high life. The keepers keep them in airconditioned rooms and they sleep on blocks of ice to keep cool. Thats more then most of the places we stayed in =P This was followed by some Sichuan Hotpot....which turned out to be really really really really hot and some of us got the runs the next day *cough cough GAS*

The worlds biggest Budda....also attracted what seemed like everyone from China to see it on the same day as us. We waited 2 hours to see this 71m Budda!!

The views from E mei were awesome....I felt I was in one of those old kungfu movies on top of that mountain haha I know its lame =(

Lots of pretty lakes and soooo very pretty. This park was so clean, even with all the tourist. NB: The lakes from this park were featured in the Jet Li movie Hero =P

More pretty lakes, actually more like ponds. Some of the tourist walking up needed bottled oxygen...but we needed no such thing!!

More like a little dingy...we cruised down the Yangzi river and stayed in a tiny little room. The river was very dirty...but still fun!

Stopped off at the ghost temple. Then went to the Zhangfei temple at night.

This was probably the best part of the cruise. We left our cruise ship and hopped onto a smaller cruise boat and sailed in between the gorge. After that we went on these tiny little wooden boats that took us deeper into the mini gorges.

This places was kinda boring and also because I was stabbed in a knee with a protruding steel pin in the taxi so I was limping around Lijiang and didn't see much. Dali was nicer.

Went to see the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. I always imagined the palace to be on some giant mountain and far far away from any cities...but it turns out its right in the middle of Lhasa next to the busy roads.

The day we went to Ganden so happened to be the only day in the year they have their festival, so we were lucky enough to catch all the pilgrims flocking to the monastery to pray and climb the mountain.

We stopped off on the way to have lunch with genuine nomads and had smelly yak momos (momos are like dumplings):S Went to Namtso Lake, it's at 4718m above sea level making it the highest in the world..WOOHOO..haha
it was hard to run while we were there, had trouble breathing. Went horse riding beside the lake and slept in a Ger.

On the way home our driver was nice enough to invited us to his house to meet his family and to have tea and eat Yak jerky...the tea was nice but the jerky was totally gross but I had to eat it just to be nice....:S

After visitin the biggest budda and dam then to the highest lake in the world, it was only suiting that we went to the worlds tallest mountain...Base Camp was at 5220m. Only got to see about 20mins of it because the clouds came through =( ohh yeh...and it was FREEZZZING

I forgot the name of this lake we went to, but by this stage we were all laked-out...=P

The weather was fantastic here....and we ate ourselves silly at the eat street. I love URUMQI! Wish I ate mullen though...

This was soo pretty, probably the nicest stretch of road we travelled on in the 2 months. Also visited Karakul lake where a baby cameral snatched a piece of watermelon from Anna's hand...haha

I was in 2 places at once!! I had one foot in Pakistan and one foot in China...hehe Just like Mandy Moore in 'A walk to remember'!!!
