Really a great layout and one can recognize the landmarks you have included along the Hudson River.I see you have 2 of the other Dreyfuss Hudsons but I am surprised you don't have an Empire State express.I am impressed and wish my layout looked as good.I don't know if you belong to the NYC Historical society but they have a model column however the guy who writes the column only reviews or writes about HO gauge.Keep up the good work.

Just wonderful! Your colors and lighting are as impressive as your backdrop. Did you paint it yourself? Airbrushed? I am very impressed, and inspired. Now.. if I can just locate some talent...

Great job. As a Croton-on-Hudson resident I enjoyed that very much. I will forward this page to my friends on the Hudson. I think that people who haven't seen the Hudson Valley couldn't realize how closely you have captured the flavor of the region. It is still a scenic wonder, much of it unchanged from days of steam. Now the domain of the GE Genisis Diesels in various colors, including 3 Amtrack designs, the Metro North blue stripe on silver gray and the retro painted New Haven in McGinness colors. Also seen are GP 40 in CSX colors and Conrail blue.

Enjoyed all the pictures - VERY NICELY CRAFTED layout! (Is that an MTH Dreyfuss? We have one too.)

Also very impressed with your backdrop. Is it painted on the wall, or what? And how - what kind of paint? That's one of our next steps and currently one of us is very worried about it.

    32 feet or river section

This layout is fantastic and very well done. I particularly enjoy the scenery work that you have done. It's not just a smattering of scenery materials. It shows that some real thought went into the execution.

While there are many different layouts worldwide, many fall into the mediocre or so so categories. This layout belongs in the upper echelons of Hirail O scale layouts.

    Happy railing,

I was fascinated of your use of painted backdrop especially the river. I also like the way you took the milk depot and coverted it to a relief. I am in the process of determining the scenicking of my layout. My theme is Cincinnati rail operations and a passenger terminal of a Chicago theme. This allows use of my CTA El, Metra, Santa Fe UP and SP trains in addition to the Eastern lines. I think I will have some fronts on sidings serving the Tropicana facility, P&G's use of tank cars, and some other local operations. These are based on the Pentrex video Sunrise/ Sunset/ Cincinnati. I also plan to have some N scale intertwined in the hills at one end of the layout. This represents a C&O branch that went through Indiana to Chicago and was the early route of the Amtrak Cardinal.I hope to have a homepage up once the work is done. I have been taking photos with my Olympus Digital but I haven't got the hang of setting up the homepage.

    West Point across the Hudson

I grew up in the central Hudson Valley(Germantown) and, as I recall the passenger service of NYC went up the east bank--same side as West Point. What rail service was on the west bank was primarily freight--mostly cement.

The layout is outstanding and pictures don't do it justice and would love to see it in person.
