2012 ROLLING BONES HOT ROD SHOP GARAGE NIGHT - Feb 4, 2012

Hot Rods. Friends. Food. Drinks. Cold. Hot Rods. I already said Hot Rods?......But I like 'em.
A cold Saturday night due North of Albany...Ken Schmidt and Keith Cornell are the Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop. They turn out the absolute nastiest, coolest, bitchinest, traditional hot rods you'll find anywhere. Famous for thier cross-country banzai jaunts to Bonneville and southern runs to Maxton, the Rolling Bones guys use their stuff and take thier hardcore customers along for the ride. Every February they host Garage Night and a bunch of frozen Hot Rodders show up to thaw-out and party at the Bones's Barn. The packed house is treated to an open door shop filled with cool artifacts and parts lining the walls and a bunch of killer projects under construction. They even let you try them on! This year the weather was really cooperative so outside were a dozen or so Hot Rods who's owners braved the chilly but clear New York night and chowed down Philly Soft Pretzels, Pizza, Wings, Whoopie Pies while downing copious amounts of Beer and bench racing, bullshitting and laughing into the night. We had a blast, thanks Guys!
Then Sunday we made our way over to the Saratoga Auto Museum to check out the Porsche: 60 Years of Speed & Style in North America Exhibit. Wow. Race Cars, One-Offs and bad ass exotics Street Machines were all fully represented in this Porsche assembledge. I drooled over the 906 for while before going upstairs to check out some fine, home-grown New York State Racers on display. What a place...

Len Sammon's Annual Northeast Motorsports Ice-Breaker! The middle of winter is a good time to start getting ready for upcoming racing season in the Northeast and what better way than an indoor Motorsport Expo! Race Tracks, Racing Parts Vendors, Racing Series and Race Teams came out in droves to support the expo and get the word out about their doin's....
Vintage Racers, Dirt Modifieds, Outlaws, Karts, Stock Cars, Road Racers, Sprinters, Asphalt Modifieds and a strong contingent of Drag Racers once again filled the hall to capacity!

Wintertime fun! Ken "Posie" Fenical opens up his shop right after the holidays to kick off the New Year and some of the Hard Core Northeasterners usually show up...We caught some nice bright but COLD January weather and a bunch of good stuff rolled up outside. Good times.
After stuffing ourselves with Glazed Doughnuts and Chocolate Milk we headed back down Rt. 322 to Carlevale Customs and checked out what they are up to. Right inside the door we were greeted by a killer Camaro Custom Convertible with a huge by large power plant. Awesome. Lotsa neat stuff going on in central Pa on a cold Saturday afternoon.

Welcome to my collection of Drag Racing and Hot Rod Stuff. These are things that I have accumulated over my 42 years of fun livin’ in this automotive sport/hobby/lifestyle/addiction.....You will see lots of cool car-related stuff like toys, magazines, used-up parts, photos, trophys, art, stickers, posters, record albums, model kits, jackets, helmets, Ed Roth/Rat Fink items and a plethora of other trinkets. Some of my stuff may have some value, most of it doesn’t, except that it makes me smile. Just about everything has a story or memory attached to it and in that lies the value to me. Some of these things I’ve held onto since I was a child, some I’ve just recently acquired; the collection is always slowly expanding. So have look around and thanks for checking out my stuff…..
