- Groningen is the Dutch province where I live. The main city is also called Groningen. I started studying there (sociology) in 1965, and still live in the province Groningen, in Huizinge.
A lot of this land is below sealevel, so dikes prevent the sea from overflowing it at high tide. These dikes were first constructed in the middle ages, before that people lived on 'terps': hills they built themselves. Huizinge, where I live now (160 inhabitants) is a village on a terp. - subfolders: 1 and albums: 2
