This morning was very overcast due to a marine layer here in SoCal. My brother Keith, Hiker and I headed over to Rice Canyon for a hike. Everything was very damp due to the marine layer, but it was very green due to the late rains we've been having this year. As soon as we started out on the trail, we encountered a lone coyote. He seemed very used to people as he just sat and watched us from afar. We also encountered a gopher snake on our way back down the trail. The creek was running and there were a few wildflowers. We got pretty wet as it was misting and the tall grass was very wet.
