These few photographs show mostly Koroni view on the south coast of Kefalonia....where two main Pylons came down in force 10 gales taking the smaller power lines with them!
This situation coupled with snow and ice left Kefalonia and Ithaca our sister Island crippled for 6days with no power at all and no water!

The Festival of the Patron Saint of Kefalonia St. Gerasimos.
The Saint is the Patron saint of the mentally insane. (Says it all really;) The festival takes place twice a year, on 16th August & 20th October. The sick the dying and the mentally ill will lie down in the road for the Holy Ritual where the cask is paraded with the remains of the Saint inside. If you look closely at one of the photos you may see the body of the saint.

The Highest mountain in the Ionian islands! At it's highest point 1,628 metres high.
This is where the legendary Kefalonia Fir tree grows, a rare species endemic to Kefalonia.
Abies Cephalonica is now a
protected species and sits within The Ainos National Park.

The Roman Villa at Skala, showing the mosaic floors. Excavated in 1957. Dated around the 2nd century A.D. And signed by the artist.
