I have 2 types of Gels that I use, the regular kind, which are Fantasia and Eco, and the new type of gels, Hicks and Joie MyGel.

Joie MyGel and Hicks don't leave hair hard or flaky, but they do slick the edges down nicely.

If you need to define your curls, Fantasia IC and Eco Styler Olive Oil Styling Gels are my 2 favorites, because Joie and Hicks will temporarily straighten your hair. If you combine say Eco and Hicks, you will get an elongated curl, so your curl will be defined but without the poof, completely defines with no frizzies.
