THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN 2008 - Allied / Axis Battle Reenactment

If I were born ten or fifteen years earlier, I'm sure I would have either been a fighter pilot or possibly a photojournalist and war correspondent. As it turned out, I served in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller and photography has been my passion since 1958 while stationed in Europe.

I've been attending and photographing THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN for the past six years and it seems each year is as exciting as the previous.

I shoot for detail and authenticity by converting to sepia and trying to capture the emotion and mood of what it must have been like on the battlefield or airfield during the 1940s.
