Willow Run Bomber Plant and 3509th Army Air Force Base

Presented are scans of original negative taken during the WW2 years of the Willow Run factory, the base, and some publicity photos. Thanks to Sam Sturgis, who preserved the original negatives and who also scanned them to provide these photos.

This album has had pictures lost due to the Superstorm Sandy in 2012. Servers had been damaged resulting in the loss of some pictures. I have RELOADED all of the pictures into the new albums in this folder. I've saved this album to preserve whatever comments that remain.

I attended this open house and was excited to find my image included in this picture.  My father, John Eby Sr. was an employee and is in the left foreground of the picture wearing the light jacket with hat.  He is speaking to my uncle, Charles Thomas, who was also an employee.  My sister and I are the two children in front of them, my sister, Sherry is swinging on the rope. I was almost seven years old and my sister was eleven.  We all had migrated to Yipsilanti from Arkansas and were living in a housing facility provided by the government or Ford.
    John Eby Jr.
