Matmata - Dec 27, 2006
-
I was fascinated with the cave houses in Matmata. Some are dugged out in the ground. About ten meters deep. Small rooms leading from a big courtyard. Some of the more “modern” cave houses now have gas stoves. I also saw a television set! So times are changing. - Album was created 6 years 5 months ago and modified 10 months ago

Douz - Dec 27, 2006
-
The camel safari at Douz was the highlight of my visit. And this time it was more than a photo pose on a camel! It was fantastic! I had a huge camel, so I didn’t feel guilty sitting on it and enjoying the view as we walked towards the sunset in the Sahara desert. The camels make the funniest noises, nearly like turkeys. Still have to read up on this! - Album was created 6 years 5 months ago and modified 6 years 5 months ago

Tozeur Oasis - Dec 28, 2006
-
The picture that I used to have of an oasis, is of a pool of water surrounded by a few palm trees, and people and camels resting around it. This oasis was totally different, with hundreds of palm trees. The oasis is divided in three layers, tall palm trees, then fruit trees like oranges, apricots, figs and the a third layer on the ground used for vegetable growing. The water bubbling from the spring is warm. - Album was created 6 years 5 months ago and modified 10 months ago

Sidi Bou Said - Dec 29, 2006

Sidi Bou Said is a little town up on a hill, famous for its blue doors. I think I got them all, but let me know if I have missed one and I will be back! :-) - Album was created 6 years 5 months ago and modified 10 months ago
