Moisie River trip, Aug 27 - Sept 10, 2005.

Moisie is a famous white water ( class 3-5) river in northern Quebec. We went there as an all-man team of 6 with two catamarans ( 4 + 2 ). After the long rain (brought there by hurricane Katrina), the water level became very high and the difficulty of rapids increased one category up.
This album is a collections of pictures caught with 3 digital cameras - with about 75% contributed by Boris Levi.
I selected about 200 frames out of 1200 for this album. The letter "b", "d" or "l" after the number indicates the frame author. "b" for Boris Levi, "d" for Dima Avramenko and 'l' for me (Lenya Fromzel).

We were busy running the rapids and not always shot pictures in the process. But threre is enough to give you an impression. Most pictures are shot with telephoto mode (or longest focus possible), because Moisie is a very big river, often more than 100 meters wide. As a result many big waves and holes appear smaller and shorter than they actually were. This was a problem even for a naked eye while we scouted rapids - from a distance some obstacles looked less serious than they proved to be...

In a short time I'll add comments to some pictures. In my livejournal (user 'lom') I'll describe the trip in more detail.

Enjoy!
I'll appreciate any comments!
