| | | - End of Year Hair Progress
- This folder documents my hair progress over the years. Only pics of my hair when it is freshly relaxed, trimmed, washed and set, and pics of my hair after my braids are removed will be added to this. All other pics are in my normal albums.

| | | - Goals & Accomplishments (wet hair & new growth stretched length pics)
- Im gonna start setting up goal lengths and try to accomplish them. Please be patient because i think my hair grows kinda of slow, i dont know how it grows now cuz i've been in braids for about 6 months, but i hope it grows pretty quick and i hope it shows in the pictures. I will take pics and set goal dates and when the day comes, I will take another pic to see if i reached my goal. I set my goals to 3-4 month periods. Wish me luck!
1st goal- covering my necklace by Sept 10th. (accomplished=>I actually reached SL)
2nd goal- Between shoulder and armpit length (accomplished!)
3rd goal- APL - albums: 4
| | | - My Sister's Natural Hair Journey
- My older sister, 2 years older than me, has always had the worse hair ever. She never knew how to take care of it, so in return, it was dry, brittle, and just plain nasty! Her length was uneven and all over the place. The longest i can remember her hair being was full neck length, and thats only because she went natural for a year and my cousin decided to give her a relaxer. Her relaxed hair was nice and thick since there were no previous chemical treatments added. After that relaxer, everything went downhill. She just did not care at all. I tried to give her advice, but it all went in one ear and out the other. Every time she goes to get a relaxer at the salon, they put the relaxer on the new growth as well as the length of the hair, severely overprocessing the hair in the process. Her hair went from being thick and pretty, to thin and lifeless. And she always got those updo's ponytails that require a lot of hairspray and spritz. She never moisturizes or seals or gets trims or anything. Her hair was TERRIBLE. And just recently, she noticed that her hair was not going where she wants it to go. She finally came to me for advice. I took her under my wing and told her all about Black hair, how much it needs our attention and love and care. Obviously, her hair does not thrive with relaxers, and she just got one about 3 weeks ago. I advised her to shave it all off to start over. She looked at me with disbelief. It took a lot of convincing people lol..Suddenly, out of nowhere, hot young celebrities around our ages were shaving their heads. Solange, Cassie, Rihanna, La-La, and Keyshia Cole. She became inspired because she saw the celebrities doing it. I told her she should go for it. I wanted her to start out on a clean slate. Shave it off, start over...you NEED it! She now HATES relaxers, and i am helping her embark on a natural hair journey. On August 8, 2009, we went to the barbershop where my brother gets his haircuts. The barber thought we were waiting for somebody. "Can help you ladies?", he asked.
"Yes, We're here to shave her head," I replied. Everybody in the barbershop stopped talking.
"Why?," he asked.
"She wants to start all over, and grow natural hair", i answered for her. She was being shy.
"Ok, lol" he said.
