Highland Park is an affluent, predominately middle-class community in southwestern Saint Paul. There are a number of prestigious educational institutions in the area, but the major factor that is attributed with the development of the neighborhood is the Ford Plant, which is still producing new vehicles. The plant has spawned a hydro power plant and a inter-city bridge jointly funded by the two cities. Ford Parkway is the main commercial artery of the neighborhood.
