Special: Interdistrict School

This is a downtown Minneapolis school that I studied as part of a postoccupancy report for an architecture class at the U of M. These pictures were for evidence, and I decided to put them up here, first for my group, but now for everyone to look. Check out the innovative open plan design in the school, a very new style of design.

This is the room where Josh Gepner, our third interviewee, had his office. Teachers at the school may have a desk in an enclosed room, but it is shared with other faculty. This is considered "clean" compared to what it normally looks like in here,

This is the classroom of James Palmer, a history/technology teacher of middle/high school students. He was a second interviewee and had much to say about the school. He preferred not to be photographed, but wanted to show people how his classroom looked.

These are display cases from the commons on the first floor. While it looks appealing, the architect originally intended them to be physicaly used by the children so that they could promote a better multicultural background.
