1969 Ford Mustang Mach I - 351W
| || |
I purchased this 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I in December 2002, which was a short time after relocating to the Twin Cities. Champagne Gold in color with a 351-Windor engine, which had been upgraded to a 4bbl by the previous owner. An elite version Marti Report confirmed this vehicle's status as having been a 1 of 3 with its original options.
Over the next 5 years a significant investment was made in what was already a very nice condition vehicle. Jimmy's CRC, owned and operated by Jimmy Gaboury and at the time located in Shakopee, Minnesota, completed nearly all of the cosmetic and mechanical work.
After almost 7 years of ownership, I made the decision to sell due to my lack of use of this vehicle over the prior 3 years of ownership. I had in fact been contemplating selling it for the prevoius 2 years. On August 3, 2009 I sold this Mustang to Mike Walsh of Gregory, Michigan. Mr. Walsh's intentions are to carry on the with the quality craftsmanship prevoiusly given to it and make some subtle improvements (such as new wheels and tires).
While I owned it, this Mustang garnered a great deal of attention at car shows and earned its' share of awards. To date I have only had the pleasure of seeing one other Champagne Gold Mach I in person. This occurred my last year in Minnesota (2007) attending the Upper Midwest SAAC Club's All-Ford Car Show at Apple Valley Ford. The gentleman who owned this beautifully restored Mustang lived in Apple Valley, MN. Otherwise, I have only had the opportunity to see Champagne Gold Mustangs in my magazines. While I am glad it sold, this is one I will likely regret not having. If only I were wealthier and had more space to store Mustangs.
