Sailing up the Clyde at 06:30 it was amazing to see in the dark all the camera flashes from people lining the shores at that hour. It was too dark for photos then so these are from about 07:30 to 07:50 as Queen Mary 2 was coming alongside the Ocean Terminal to the tones of the Royal Burgh of Renfrew Pipe Band. To accommodate QM2 the port's three huge cranes had been squeezed as far down the terminal as they could go. A lovely morning, which was however soon to turn into low cloud & rain 19 October 2009

We were treated to a fantastic Firework Display in Greenock with what seemed like thousands of people lining the shores & Esplanade. Unfortunately the photos are not too good & one is better off watching my video clip for the action

The display was delayed for half an hour awaiting the return of a coach from an excursion. This meant I was some 45 minutes late for dinner :( but then so were many others 18:30 - 18:45 19 October 2009

I took the local bus to Gourock to see the Calmac & Western Ferries that cross the Clyde to Dunoon. Unfortunately once there the heavens opened & I only saw JUPITER arriving & the Western Ferries' SOUND OF SCALPAY & SOUND OF SANDA from a distance; too wet for a long walk around to McInroy's Point. I walked a long way back from bus stop to bus stop too waiting for one 10:00 - 12:00 19 October 2009

In Oak Mall there were some paintings by school children of QM2 welcoming her to Inverclyde. Views of QM2 from the docks & the Clydeport from QM2 in the rain. People were walking by viewing QM2 in a specially laid out route. Various vessels on The Clyde during the afternoon 15:00 -16:30 19 October 2009

The Firework Display was delayed due to the late return of a coach from an excursion so these photos were taken of the flotilla including the lovely PS WAVERLEY awaiting the departure of QM2 & the many hundreds of onlookers along Greenock's Esplanade 17:40 - 18:30 19 October 2009
