Dover/Calais/Dover Crossing Wednesday 6 August 2008
SeaFrance Cézanne 11:05 & SeaFrance Rodin 15:15
The original plan for the day, to sail aboard SeaFrance Molière fell flat when her inaugural sailings kept being delayed & SF Cézanne was substituted. The 2nd plan to catch the 16:16 sailing back, to coincide with the departure of Carnival Splendor from Dover, also fell flat when that crossing was full & could not be booked.
However as luck would have it, today turned out to be that for SeaFrance Molière's inaugural calls to both Calais & Dover for berthing trials etc. All SeaFrance vessels were dressed for the occasion, including Manet & Renoir laid-up in Calais. The timings of our crossings could not have been better, with being able to witness SF Molière sailing in the Channel beforehand, in Calais, departing Calais, berthing at Dover & then departing from Dover from the Western Cliffs.
