Southampton's 5 Ships - 29 August 2009

A very busy day in Southampton with the centre closed to all but buses & taxis, huge queues for the Hythe Ferry & never seen so many people at Calshot Spit along with the boaters, sailors, windsurfers, kiters & half of Hampshire ;) Black Watch, Grand Princess, Queen Mary 2, Oceana & Independence of the Seas were all in port. Various excursion trips were being run and ss Shieldhall had a day out. The weather stayed fine with sunny intervals between the dark brooding clouds; no rain although it was quite windy & chilly at Calshot.
